I don't mean EVERYONE, but there are plenty who thrive on mocking, attacking and insulting others. I understand freedom of religion and free speech and I completely respect that, but I don't undersand the anger and hatred so often displayed here. Are people truly so angry and bitter that they feel the need do be rude and intolerant to anybody even slightly diffferent thaa themselves?

What a sad world we live in.

I always get a ton of thumbs down for saying this, but I do think that when people hide behind the anonymity of an avatar online, they will say things that they would never, never, never say in front of their friends, family, employers.

You're quite right that it's a sad state of affairs.

I am an intolerant kind of person but the Lord has placed in my life those who need extra heaps of grace and tolerance. From me. Through these people the Lord has grown me. And He isn't done yet. Talk about tolerant, I have someone coming to stay with me next week because they have no where else to go. Getting out of jail. Starting over. Obviously, I don't share their views. It will be interesting.

Based on my experience, the only group that I find intolerant are fundamentalists.

Fundamentalism is defined as “the practice of asserting the absolute truth of your own beliefs and practices to the deliberate exclusion of the possibility of truth in the beliefs and practices of others.” Based on this definition, one can conclude that Fundamentalism is nothing but bigotry and religious intolerance. Fundamentalism, of whatever shape or form, is a deadly poison in human relations – resulting in rancor, strife -- and in the extreme -- hatred, violence and genocide.

If we want peace in the world we must all take an uncompromising stand against fundamentalism.

Peace and blessings!

It's because they are hurting, hun. Maybe you were not like this before you embraced Islam but it affects a lot of people. Try to heal the world by being active in it (I'm not saying you don't, I don't know). On here, just point out the posers so some people who aren't on here often will know. Otherwise, expect this type of behavior, it's part of the fun of the Internet.

I try to be tolerant but when saying that there are a couple things that need to be explained.

We (as Americans) have the right to free speech. We DO NOT have the right to hate (hate crimes for example).

We do have the right to believe what we want as long as it doesn't harm others.

If attacking is discussion of perceived right and wrong that is OK... if it is a "I'm going to kill you" then that is wrong.

Remember that hatred and anger usually stem from non-understanding and WE need to have tolerance of those who have those feelings and not reciprocate those feelings back to them.

Yes, what a sad world we live in,
Some people have no respect for others believe what so ever, they come here to insult others and make fun of their believes,
I try not be tolerant, i try my best
If you have something good to say, say it if not then don't say anything

Eh I think more of it has to do with "keyboard courage" than anything else. Most people here wouldn't be so rude or insulting in real life. But since they are pretty much anonymous behind the keyboard they get all uppity with others.

Not intolerant...Just trying to set things straight with the scriptures.
False religion has so twisted peoples thinking they are confused. Resulting in them asking these questions on this site.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

In my case, it is not the lack of tolerance that ticks me off, but self-righteousness. Sheeeeesh!

Since you're a Muslim, you know that we don't know who will or who won't enter Heaven and that's what I love about Islam. Everybody has a chance! YAY!

P.S. Sorry, had to rant a bit ~blushes~
