Everyone here is working on (his or her) own assumptions. Really: there’s no one here that’s as old as the Earth so no one really knows. But estimates show approximately 4.5 billion years assuming the consistency of decay of particular radioactive isotopes. This estimate could be correct and would appear to be incorrect due to mathematical estimates governing how long it would take evolution to occur. 4.5 billion years just isn't long enough according to these (secular) figures, even 20 billion years is far too short a time. To me this is the beginning of the argument that God is more likely to have created the Earth 6000 years ago and that the Bible is correct rather than 'evidence' that 'disproves' the Bible. But that’s just me and some people on this forum would consider me to be uneducated because of this view. I'm not here to take IQ tests or to verify my education. I am here to ask/seek/provide (to the best of my abilities) information. That's what I offer and my opinions are here to be taken or left depending on what you’re looking for.

God's peace be with you.

Throughout history time units have changed making the biblical theory of less than 10,000 years inaccurate. However I am not too trusting about radiometric dating. This method determines time lengths by measuring how long it would take for a radioactive substance to decay. I can't explain why, but I just never could see how accurate this could be. The earth's estimated age according to scientists is 4.55 billion years old. In my opinion, it may be 10 billion years or 100 million. No one really knows for sure.

Billions of years.
We have dinosaur bones to prove it.
It is only MAN who has a short history on the earth.
MAN was the last of God's creations.
(Genesis 2:1) Thus the heavens and the earth and all their army came to their completion.

"All their army" means all animal life.

(Genesis 2:7) And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul.

MAN...its very specififc.

About 4.55 billion years old. Hold on while I dig up a link. I honestly don't know why people would just throw random numbers out there (religious or secular).

Right. Nobody knows for sure, but it is at least 4 billion years old.

Well, it depends on the degree of freedom you want to give the answer.

About 4.6 billion years seems reasonable.
