And wasn't he lucky that every plant on earth just happened to be bearing seeds at the same time of year?

The Bible doesn't address this question. It says that Noah preserved animals, not plants. Plants can survive by other means, since their seeds can be preserved even in a wet environment and will sprout shortly thereafter. Normally, we have seeds at approximately the same time each year. There are obvious exceptions. But this objection is an example of what is normally known in logic as a "straw man" which is an extra idea that is thrown into a discussion to derail it, and get people distracted from discussing the real issues.

Everything I read about Noah was that Gopher wood was used for the Ark, something that no longer exists:it's a heavy dense wood. That's assumed why there may still parts of it on the mountain, the wood.

The Sequoia may have been around then but, I have no information on that and can find none. If the progenitor of our Sequoia, say ours is three thousand years old, then he could have had the Sequoia progenitor that would fit in. Say, two, maybe three generations back, not unreasonable.

Even more interesting than that seed is the seed Jesus spoke about in the Parable of the Sower. He called it the word of God and no one really knows what he was talking about.

Have you ever tried to submerge a non-aquatic plant under water for forty days and nights? This would be a good test to do. Allah knows best!
