The term 'Point Blank Range' is one that our dumb media use indiscriminately without actually knowing the definition of the term.
It does not mean what it is frequently used to mean by news reporters and CSI TV show writers, which is "very close range".
Point blank differs with each firearm and even with different ammunition. The 'blank' in the term refers to barrel elevation, not distance. Please read the fine Wikipedia article on the subject for your own edification.
Now that you know more than most people, I hope you will use the term correctly in the future and prove your superior intelligence.
Now, air guns CAN be lethal as long as the projectile penetrates or damages flesh or, more critical, blood vessels in the body. It's not likely to kill someone, but the possibility is certainly there.
Be careful and happy shooting!

As the others have been saying, an airgun is definitely lethal if misused. Granted the chances for a fatal injury are not as high as with an actual firearm, but there is a risk none-the-less. Most vulnerable are the eyes as it doesn't take very much trauma to damage one. There is also no bone or hard muscle behind it, so an unlucky enough shot into the eye can be fatal.
However, the eye isn't the only vulnerable spot. The internal organs are still very susceptible to damage. A pellet or BB to the right spot on the torso or chest can prove just as fatal. This is especially a danger in younger children who are more likely to be the ones using these items. Their bones are often softer and the size of their organs makes any damage that much more traumatizing.
My advice to you is to not try to test this question out. Take it from all of us, it DEFINITELY can be lethal!

The .357 Magnum 125 grain semi-jacketed hollow point out of a 4" revolver is still recognized as the best manstopper. So your question is, "Is a Colt .357 lethat at point blank range?" Well, provided that the Colt is loaded with the proper ammunition, what do you think? H

"COLT" - does not make an air gun that resembles a .357(Python, etc) >At least none that I know of<
There are "toy" air soft pistols that resemble a .357 Colt Python, that cost about $20-$30. They shoot very light weight PLASTIC BB's at 240fps. It might sting a little bit if hit in the wrong place but no one is going to die.
"Real" air guns of course can be very dangerous, lead pellets at 400fps-1350fps can do a lot of damage, and could possible kill.

Yes, almost any air gun can be lethal if fired at the right place on the body.

It can be. If directed at soft tissue around the head. (i.e. eyes)
Most likely not lethal anywhere else. But there have been fatalities, so it isn't unheard of.

If fired at soft tissue then definitely, Why would you be considering shooting it at point blank range?

You talking about one of those Crossman ones that shoot the .177 pellets using a CO2 cartridge?
Maybe, if you jammed it somewhere where there is a hole in the skull, but even then probably not.

If you shot it into soft tissue at such an angle it would penetrate cerebrum.
