About 2 years ago my friend moved into a new buid house.
About a year ago she was in bed watching a film and all of a sudden she couldn't move, she said she could feel herself being phisically pinned down, she got free and tried to get down the stairs to her daughters bedroom, but she couldn't move, the next minute she was flung on the bed and woke up, so it was a dream.
Over the past 2 years similar things have happened. She has a new boyfriend that virtually lives there now, 5 days ago she was dreaming and all of a sudden couldn't breathe, she felt as though a hand was over her mouth, she realised it wasn't a hand, it was that she had no mouth, she called out to her bf and he leant over to kiss her and smiled, she started crying and he woke her up. He doesn't dream but could see her struggling.
Next night they swapped places, and for the past 3 nights he's had nightmares, woke up crying and struggles to wake up, they both sed it's comin from the right side. Help please.

Thanks for the answers so far, I forgot to mention that it's affecting her whilst being awake, she went skiing with bf and couldn't turn right, as much as she tried, and even got a machanic to check her car out as she said it was veering to the left, can I just say she's not crazy, if anything she isn't into ghosts and stuff, but she's really freaked out.

this is called sleep paralysis
a doctor would understand this and be able to help
what happens is the body secretes a hormone to stop us acting out our dreams
sometimes this kicks in too soon and we experience a waking dream and cannot move
please tell her not to be scared but to ask her doctor for help
it is very common and not dangerous in any way
although it is terrifying
xx

yes i've had this hundreds of times throughout my life, sometimes whilst awake. You want to call out for help but can't, and it really does feel like someone is holding you down.
I don't buy the sleep paralysis theory because sometimes these episodes have been extremely strange, not enough space to write about it all here, but i certainly understand why some people believe they have been abducted by aliens!
I can tell you two things: Although i do not follow a religion, i found that by demanding in the name of jesus to go, it suddenly passes. My friends have often told me they have heard me shout out GO in the middle of the night!
The other thing, and i know this will raise a few laughs, is check out an alien abduction site. You will find many other people to talk to about this kind of thing, and although it may have nothing to do with aliens, it will be a comfort to exchange experiences.

If the phenomena is manifesting during the day and in places away from the bedroom, then your friend must seek help from a psychic, who will be able to contact any Spirit that may be causing this to happen and help it to leave, hopefully without too much fuss. Your friend can be put in contact with respectable and helpful psychics through her local Spiritualist church. They may also be able to arrange for a cleansing ritual to be performed in your friends home. Above all this, tell your friend to try to remain calm (easier said than done!) and the situation will soon be resolved with the right help. I'll put in a good word for your friend, when I perform my prayer rituals, morning and evening. Can you let me know how it goes? Take care and tell your friend not to worry. Blesse'd be x

There is nothing mysterious or supernatural about this, these are known as night terrors. They are just anxiety attacks while you sleep. Her boyfriend has also succumbed to them as a result of her fears.Try moving the bed so that the headboard is facing north this has been shown to aid restfull sleep.

Sounds like she has lots of worries and a vivid imagination. Perhaps it would help her to realize that it is just a dream and that it might be because of worries she has in her life. There is nothing evil about the right side of the bed.

Sounds like sleep paralysis which we all can experience and it's really terrifying, but for peace of mind do a clearing ceremony or sage smudging.
Check out this previous question for how to do a clearing ceremony with some of the helpful answers here:

As a Christian I firmly believe in the demonic. If your friend is not a Christian I'm not sure how it works but all demons have to obey the name of Jesus, she could try commanding the presence to leave her in the name of Jesus. If it doesn't work, she should ask a local minister/pastor to help.

Talk to a psychic, tell her (or him) what's going on. I had the same problem with a painting and the psychic did a cleansing ritual, after that, the nightmares virtually stopped.
