Faith is not a gift. Faith is an excuse for believing something you have no reason to think is true. It is believing something to be true, just because you want it to be true.

Yes, Faith is a precious gift to be nurtured & valued.
Faith, accompanied by Love & Service.
I truly believe that Faith is the best gift one can give one's children. My favourite saying:
"Faith is that bird that sings when the dawn is still dark".
It means & explains a lot to me!

Faith is one of the spiritual gifts that God gives to believers through the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit you can't receive this gift.
Without acknowledging that you are a sinner in need of God's forgiveness and believing that Christ Jesus died for your sins - making forgiveness and newness of life possible; without these, you cannot have the Holy Spirit. The first step to receiving what God offers is to believe his word. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of the Lord. Without faith is is impossible to please God. For he who comes to him must first believe that God is and is the rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
