They are cheaper to make and easier to transport.

Because pizza boxes come in flat pre-creased cardboard sheets. The people at the pizza store fold then to put them together. It would take more time and money to make them round.

It's not stupid;-} they haven't figured out a round box.
Some places make a square pizza though.
I have seen octagonal pizza boxes; Dominos I think.

maybe its easy to pack them in a cuboidal box as the folding of the 'pre-boxed' cardboard becomes easier.
also it is easy 4 transport. withe round ones, some space is wasted

square boxes are easier to make. imagine making a circular box, it would take forever.
