Errr the oil supply perhaps??
The best part is that Bin Laden is from Saudi Arabia and the US made a big effort to get high profile Saudis out of America immediately after 9/11.
Funny isn't it? A Saudi Arabian destroys the twin towers and you invade Iraq and Afghanistan!

Tim McVee was an american terrorist.
So does that mean we shouldn't give our military weapons ?
The two are not connected.
This is a silly question the way it was asked.
Your trying to indict a whole country, for the acts of 17 of its citizens.
Guess thats why the left continues to try and make something of the fact that the Bush family knows the Bin Laden family.

The Saudi government do not condone the events of 9/11 they have made themselves venerable to attack because of the help they have given to the coalition forces and have always been a major arms buyer from countries such as the US and UK.In view of the fact that British citizens have been caught fighting against out troops in Iraq and Afganistan I find this a very odd question.

Because Saudi Arabia has been fighting Al Quaeda for years. (Go back and read the news from 2004-2005.)
Since they are an ally - we want to support them. Another thing to consider is that if they are using American weapons we have some control over what they do with them because we control the supply of spare parts.

Whats the big deal? The U.S. has been selling arms to Saudi since the 70's. Why is it a big deal now?
And yes, most of the terrorist involved with 9/11 were from Saudi. We aren't selling weapons to the "average Joe" on the street, we're selling to the Saudi Govt, who, btw have been our ally for many years.

because you can kill two birds with one stone. Iran opposes America so the American government is give Saudi Arabia funding and the Americans will sell weapons to them, thus gaining back there profits. Saudi Arabia will then attack Iran and it would look like an Islamic war and America wont look like the bad guy even though they will be the ones who are the instigators

Pretty gay avatar for a Paul?
So you think if a couple Saudis are bad that condemns the whole lot? Pretty myopic.
They have the oil and are more friendly as a Gov to us than any other Islamic nation. believe it or not we support S.A. for Europe, fat lot of good that does with the french or germans who's lives literally depend on it!

the highjackers may well have come from Saudi Arabia but so does bin laden but the obvious answer is that they want to keep on the right side of the Saudi's because of one word OIL.

to support american's weapons industry , provide jobs for americans . it is all about money , no morals. Mind you , we sold weapons to both Iran and Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war during the 80s. Also think about the kickbacks from saudi middlemen ,we are not talking peanuts here.

it's all about money. america, like most developed countries makes and sells weapons - it's purely economical.
btw - the uk's biggest ever buisness deal is selling military aircraft to saudi arabia.
