I know somebody in Weber County Jail in Utah. Is anybody familiar with what I can and cannot send? I can call tomorrow. I'm just curious right now.

Any cool ideas?

I was thinking of maybe sending him some wordsearches or crossword puzzles to pass the time, maybe some short stories. Do you think that's ok? I can send photos. They just can't exceed 4x6 inches. Do you think I could send computer generated images? I like to use Photoshop to generate little animations. It took me forever to think to send him stamps and blank paper in the mail instead of putting money on his books, specifically for the purchase of writing materials. lol.

I don't plan to send him books but perhaps print a crossword puzzle on my computer and include it in a letter. Do you think that's doable?

Lawcomm,

Joshua has served his country. Afterward, he made a mistake. A minor one, but illegal nonetheless. I recognize that. So does he. He's now doing his time. I care for this person, and because of that I would like to make this experience just a little bit easier on him. Regardless, he's in jail. I don't think a few crossword puzzles will make it a pleasant experience. He's still in jail.

The United States Post Office offers stamps to entertain many interests. Go through their website and pick some special stamps for him. I understand other people's perspective on why should you make an inmate happier, but they have to realize that families of inmates still love their own even when they turn to crime. It is very hard on every one.

Just letters, letters amd more letters. They aren't allowed to receive packages. You can send money in the form of a money order and it's posted to his account. No cash or checks. I've been doing this for a friend who's son has been in jail a very long time now.

You could always put some money on his books at jail, then he can use it to buy stuff from the jail that he wants to have inside there.

I don't know what that particular jail is like, but I teach Bible study at a county jail here in California and prisoners can use money on their books to buy special food or a head-phone radio or other items that the jail allows them to have while locked up.

Send him a card a day that just says your thinking of him. Refrain from the money thing. Remind him your their and you care but be careful of becomming part of the problem. Support him emotionally but refrain from the materialistic and monitary things. Remember you want this to be a one time thing and not have any repeats. Try not to lessen the impact of his stay as you want him to come out appreciating his freedom and you more.

I would ask him what he want's to make his stay more pleasent!
Photo's of out side world! Call the jail and see what is acceptable to send to an inmate each jail varies!
but i would ask him what he want's. and find out on your own inishtive if it's allowed and keep trying until you get it right!

Why would you make someone in jail "happier". I'm not judgeing you, I just don't understand. They are there to be punished because they did something illegal. You make soldiers "happier" not criminals.
