Getting fire to all cyls., fuel pump is running, pumping fuel out of fuel filter but will not start. Tried to self diagnose ECU but battery had been removed so I came up with code 55, Normal (nothing wrong). I know I would need to have it running to retrieve actual, accurate codes. What can be wrong? fuel pressure reg, injectors, distributor, ECU, wiring between distributor & ECU ??????? I should mention the truck is a 4 cyl 4x4 and also has been sitting for over a year. any help, Ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Poured fuel into throttle body-engine ran for about 30 seconds, stopped. Repeated this and now it just turns over with no attempt to fire. Pulled no. 1 plug, turned it over and it is getting fire out of the plug (repeated this for the other 3). Using a battery out of another car so when I removed the battery (after it ran for 30 sec.) I assume it cleared the codes and thus I'm getting code 55 (OK/nothing wrong). I'll try all the replys I received and maybe I can figure it out. Thanks to: wayne g, john paul, james s and 72 olds cutty. I really appreciate all the help. Thank You, Rick L

PS: I realize that mode 3 is where the main codes are but am I correct that if battery is removed, all modes of codes are lost ??? Also, does fuel go stright from the fuel filter to the fuel rail to injectors or is there something in between (such as fuel pressure reg. etc..)??? I know very little about Nissan's. I had a 87 300 Z, V6. It was doing the exact same thing. Only difference between the 2 is the 300 Z had a hot battery at all times. I read the codes(red & green lights) and replaced the mass air flow and oxygon sensor-fired right up. Does this 95 4cyl PU even have a Mass Air flow and if so, where is it located?
