Schneider is a German and Jewish family name derived from the German verb schneiden meaning to cut. It is usually in reference to a tailor but occasionally it refers to a woodcutter.

I cannot find the word 'Schneider' in my French dictionary.
And the online translator didn't translate it from French to English either.
Are you sure it's French? Or have you incorrectly spelt it....

It's not French, it's German. I tried to translate it using an online translator and it didn't work. So I tried German and it worked. It means "Tailor".

French? Are you sure you're spelling it correctly?
I somehow doubt it: Schneider is a Jewish surname!
