Yes. You won't find any examples of masturbation in the Bible.
Masturbation instills certain attitudes that are mentally corrupting. This habit teaches one to treat his or her body as merely an object to be used for sexual pleasure. When masturbating, a person is immersed in his or her own bodily sensations—totally self-centered. Sex becomes separated from love and is relegated to a reflex that releases tension. But God intended sexual desires to be satisfied in sexual relations, an expression of love between a man and his wife.—Proverbs 5:15-19.

I debated this one when I first became a Christian and this is what I came up with, but its probably not going to be very helpful lol
Its not a sin (the physical act of touching, climaxing etc) Yet what thoughts that are summoned and cultivated to get to that point could be part of the lustful thoughts we are told not have in our mind. Im not a highly legalistic Christian about things like this, but Its my take. Honestly the best thing you really can do is pray for Gods guidance and wisdom on this one.

I can think of only one example from the Bible but rather than try to interpret the meaning for today's world I will try to put it in simple terms.
If masturbating will prevent you from doing something that may hurt someone or yourself in any way perhaps it is not a sin. Make sense...?

There are no examples of masturbation in the Bible. However, if something controls your behavior, it is generally not good. Moreover putting anything, even a trivial thing like watching baseball as more important than God is a sin. This means we all need God's forgiveness regardless whether we masturbate, or not.

God slew Onan (old testament) for spilling his seed. Onan was guilty of circumventing the reproductive act while having relations with his wife. A logical conclusion is that the reproductive act is reserved for married persons willing to procreate.
Jesus said that whosoever looks on another with lust has committed adultry in his heart- further reinforcing that we should not even allow ourselves to think or look with lust on someone who isn't our spouse!
Masturbation could further be deemed as wrong from simple logic. The reproductive organs were created for reproduction. Just as you wouldn't use a violin (created for music) to swat a fly, one should not use reproductive organs for self pleasure.
I know this is a tall order, in this society especially, but possible.

it sure is fun, and can be a felony in some cases, but the idea of sin presupposes a divine existence, and since that is false, the validity of the idea of sin is nonexistent.

No, really . . .
I can't recall any biblical passage specifically referencing masturbation.

You mean that passage wasn't addressed to farmers?
