Actually I don't believe in hell, but for those of you who do, why is it scary? I have really never heard anything bad about it. No seriously, I've heard that it is bad, but why?

Hell no!

The Christian God, who loves us all so much, will send us to hell if we disobey him and aren't up to snuff in his judgment. Hell is therefor a place of punishment. I hear it's full of fire and brimstone and the suffering there is eternal.

With a God like that, who needs enemies?

:-)

I don't believe in hell or heaven either, but the reason people think it's scary is because religion has preached it as a place where all the sinners go. It's only used as a form of religious teaching so we can be "good". We react with fear simply because we fear punishment. If humans are scared of even small forms of punishment (being yelled at, pain, getting fired, etc.), then I can see why eternal punishment is so scary. But if you don't believe in hell, then I guess hell is only a myth to set our morals straight. Although if there is a God/hell... read up on Pascal's wager.

I believe in hell b/c I believe in God and the holy scriptures known as the Bible. It is a place that no one in their right mind would want to go, you'll be there for eternity, forever and ever. No second chance. I believe that we are given a lifetime to prepare for eternity and accept Jesus or not. Some people don't get to live out their lifetime b/c of bad accident such as a car wreck, etc. or whatever. You never know, that's why I made my choices a long time ago. I am at peace with myself and really want to "cut out" from this planet and go on to heaven, however, my time is not yet finished here. You can go to a Christian book store and find books on the subject of "Hell." If they don't have a selection, the better ones will order one for you. I used to work in one of the best Christian book stores in the country; not one of those franchise places, which might not bother to comply with your request. Believe me, there is a hell, you might want to investigate it and explore it more thoroughly, while you still have the option. Get a good study bible, bible dictionaries, some bible reference books and dig in.

I do think hell is very real, but i have no fear of it at all. This is because i try and live my life in a good decent way. Now i am not a church nut either, but i try and to treat people how i would like to be treated. Plus i am a very nice person, and i would give the shirt off my back to anyone who would ask.

Well, people have different beliefs of what Hell is. Some think that Hell is eternal separation from God. Others think that Hell is an eternal fire, a place of torture. Me? I'm not afraid of it because I'm certain, by the promise of God, that I'm not going to experience being there. Peace.

I don't think it's scary. It's actually the perfect temperature for me to cook pounds of bacon and also brownies lightening fast. The devil would not hate me because I would share. Nobody hates someone that brings food. But I hope to go to heaven.

Read The Bible and you'll find out about eternal life. The book of Revelations explains it all. Hell is eternal pain.

It's described as a place of "weeping and gnashing of teeth" "outer darkness" and a "lake which burneth with fire and brimstone". Pretty frightening to me!
