The NASCAR powers that be have struck again. This time it was Tony Stewart they hit. Last time it was Dale JR..
They are as overly sensitive to a little cuss word as the powers that be in charge of yahoo answers are.
When you interview someone who has just won a major race, like Tony and Dale JR had done, you have to expect them to be pumped up. Neither one of them were swearing at anyone They just used a word that 90% of the population uses in everyday conversations.
They say Tony used language detrimental to stock car racing. How could that be detrimental to stock car racing? This sport was the creation of old moonshine runners not chior boys.
So I ask you people from all around yahoo answers.
Would you stop watching your favorite sport,(no matter what sport that is), just because one of the stars of that sport cussed in TV?
I think someone needs to stop the sissyfication of NASCAR before France makes the official color PINK and puts frilly lace on the drivers uniforms.

No i wouldn't quit watching. I wouldn't even make my kids stop watching. They have heard worse from people in public places. My 8 yr started laughing and told me Tony said a "badword" and bet he gets in trouble. Then asked if Nascar was gonna wash his mouth out with soap. My point is its up to us as parents to censor our children and make sure they know right from wrong. I dont expect them never to hear a badword. I do expect them not to repeat it. I don't expect Nascar or anyone else to become so homogenized that it ruins what most of us love about the sport.

The ruling body of NASCAR have lost there minds and we will have to put up with it now so get use to it. They are trying to suck up so bad to the corporate dollars (and they don't have to) that they are stinking up there act. NASCAR now are the drivers and big corperations are wanting in so they should have to play NASCAR's game.

Rulings like this cussing thing is one of the many reason I have stopped watching this once great division of motor sports as much as I did in the past.

I don't want them to drop the F bomb but **** ain't bad. I can go all day or all my life with out swearing around my folks or anyone I know would be offend just a little bit but I didn't just get out of a car running in the 190 MPH and have some one stick one of the many to come microphones in my face.

I don't think he should be fined. In matter of fact I think the drivers should answer yes and no until NASCAR either stops there nonsense of fining over this or put the 7second delay on all interviews. They run enough commercials that they could switch to the 7second thing during them.

I wouldn't stop watching just because an athlete or driver cussed. I do it all the time. I mean it's all over society these days. As far as kids hearing it, it can't be helped. Parents are the ones who will have to tell their kids not to use that kind of language. You can't censor the public, it's out there and it'll stay there.

No, I wouldn't stop watching it, why would anyone because of that?
I do think the drivers need to be more aware of what comes out of their mouths though, I mean children are watching the races also - it's just not cool. I think the fines are ridiculous, but if that's what it takes for them to learn a lesson, so be it.

No, I will not stop watching NASCAR just because a driver swears.
If I stopped everything just because someone swears,
I'd have to stay home !!!

I'm not going to stop watching, but I believe that any athlete should use discretion. Heck, even though I don't like it, I'd rather have the NASCAR drivers swear on tv occasionally rather than have their names splattered all over about drugs, abuse, etc.

But I still don't like them swearing on live TV.

I think France made it to answers already. My ka-ching got reported twice so far. I think everyone is trying so hard to be "pc" that the honas are dropping off the drivers. Or they are on the chopping block waiting for the knife to fall.

I know they have an image to present, but lighten up. I hope they don't have to take etiquette classes. I think I would stop watching if it got to that point.

whats up, there is yet another mandate for you liberal cry toddlers: Affirmative action in NASCAR. quite, I persist with international Rally racing, F1, German traveling, Australian traveling, and LeManns sequence. i can not stand NASCAR and that i'm a conservative. yet, considering which you have asked considered one of those rediculous (and ignorant) question, i assumed i might attempt to entertain you with an answer. in basic terms bear in recommendations that because of the fact the q's extraordinarily freaking stupid, then so shall the respond be, ok? i think of obama could write yet another stimulus kit for minority motive force's in NASCAR. I additionally like your racist assumption that the only minority are "African human beings." so which you at the instant are not categorised a racist, i might advise the NASCAR stimulus kit contain monies for Asian drivers, latino drivers, muslim drivers (have been given to contain the lefty enjoyed taliban human beings) and everybody else who isn't seen caucasion. Ohh, small concern...I fairly have a pal who's "African American" and happens to be (epidermis shade) Whiter than a sheet. might he qualify? Or once you're saying "African American" do you in straight forward terms mean dark epidermis (black) African human beings? besides, I "desire" you get the element, for this could quite "substitute" the way human beings around the globe view NASCAR. I mean because it stands, maximum ecu (and different globalist countries) hate NASCAR because of the fact they're seen as evil wealthy White motive force's of Satans methods that unfold evil satanic white wealth & make contributions to international warming. as quickly as obama's stimulus kit for NASCAR is going by using, then each and every of the international will view NASCAR as a kinder, greater hugable style of Racing that now no longer contributes to international warming (as long as they pay their dues for carbon credit). now no longer a sort of racing for devil, run by using white eletists, yet finally a international style of racing for all mankind. Wow, I "experience" greater powerful already. you have quite contributed to the international being a greater powerful place with this question. quite.

It's not too much to ask for certain level of integrity & class in any sports. Not a big deal to hold that word for couple of minute on TV. I wouldn't mine, but it shouldn't be that big of a deal for drivers either.

I think its understandable with current climate in all sports. With cheating, steroids, fights, crimes, dog fights, all that crap. People are getting sensitive about integrity in sports.
