She is on crack... there is nothing wrong with drinking tea while on your period. You want to have more Iron in your diet at that time but there is nothing that you CAN"T have..

Go-away Cramps*
Directions: To prepare tea, simmer herbs on low for 15-20 min. Drink _ to _ cup every
15 minutes until cramps subside (use approx. 2 tsp of herbs per _ cup). When suffering
from menstrual cramps, don’t eat or drink cold foods/beverages, as this will exasperate
the cramping. Placing a hot pad over the cramping region will also help.

It's fine. Caffeine actually helps me with some of the symptoms I have. If you're concerned, you could drink a decaf tea, mix decaf and regular, or try an herbal infusion.

If its decaf, then you're fine. Caffeine may cause increased cramping and bloating, but there's no major problems that could happen from drinking it.

Not at all...Drink plenty of fluids, your body needs them. B12 is an excellent vitamin (iron), prior to and during menstruation.

actually I drink trimate for PMS and during my period, it is a great blend that helps with the pain, I do not like to abuse regular tea because they stain my teeth , but I never had any problem drinking tea while I am having my period
