"Inelul este al meu" means " The ring is mine" in Romanian.

If some other poster hadnt said it was made up I would have risked a guess of Romanian and I'm still wondering if that's what the author based the words on?

(Not having read the book)

How young / old and narrowly read or UNread are you that you see Non English words in a novel and presume they're spells?

Honestly would you avoid learning Latin cos some mediaeval magicians and alchemists used it?

And as for NOT reading a book cos it might have a spell in it ... repeat after me the "witch" in the OT Testament was practicing necromancy , not modern Wicca, Harry Potter is a fictional character, even C.S. Lewis wrote fantasies, there are Christian SF & F writers who dont write hideous apocalyptic epics, there are no bible verses telling you what books to avoid, and finally there is a biblical verse in Thessalonicans that says "Test everything".

Start learning some foreign langauges right now!

You so need to broaden your mind!

Well, if you had named the book, it might have been a clue, since some authors made up languages, in addition to the two choices you gave. OTOH, what makes you think that spells work?

Inelul al meu - is actually Romanian for "My ring" or, more accurately, "Ring of Mine", but I can't figure out where the "else" comes in or what it means.

you can find the phrase by using Ctrl F, then typing in the phrase, and it jumps down to where the girl says it..
