Many times when I eat something out of a can (such as beans or pumpkin for pumpkin pie) I can taste a metallic taste in my mouth. Is this bad to eat?

No-the toxins from food poisoning are tasteless, that's why people go ahead and eat enough to make them sick. You are just tasting the metal of the can, which is bad enough(tastewise I mean).

Sometimes I have noticed that if you buy an off brand of something it will have a metallic taste--I just started buying the good stuff.
If you taste something bad, the best thing to do is just not eat it, don't take any chances.

How old are these cans when you buy them? How long are you keeping them before using the contents?
I think people in the US use canned foods out of habit and tradition. To me, there's no excuse for using cans; access to fresh, refrigerated and frozen foods has never been wider and more varied.
Canned food is not good for you anyway; most of the nutrients are lost in the canning process, and the additives put on the inside surfaces are unhealthy, too.
My mom stayed away from canned foods, and I'm sure you could too.

No, sometimes when food has sat in something, it takes in some of the "taste", but it is like trying pop from a can and a glass bottle- totally different!!!!!

They both are Just the thing for your health. If you eat both, you're better off. But yea, I had choose fruits because they taste better.
