There will always be people who find something unsavory for they themselves to think about, and thus find it wrong that anyone else can actually enjoy such a thing.

It's one thing to be disgusted by homosexuality. That's entirely fine if that's just the effect it tends to have on you.

It's entirely another, much more idiotic thing, to insist that the things others enjoy are somehow morally wrong because you yourself wouldn't enjoy them. It's illogical and baseless.

Homosexuality has been documented extensively in nature, but EVEN IF it was agreed upon that it's unnatural, the leap from 'unnatural' to 'morally wrong' is a blind and entirely misguided one.

Foot fetishes, for all we know, may be unnatural. Are heterosexuals with foot fetishes filthy and immoral?

There is no logical argument for the immorality of homosexuality. None whatsoever.

MmmK, so I'm Deist for the record...

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being gay!!!!! It's true love either way, you know? The origin of anti-gayness was a misinterpretation from the Bible, you're right. And the Bible doesn't even say that being gay is bad. What the Bible does say, however, is that it is wrong for one man to "conquer" another man through sexual activity. In biblical times, one man would humiliate another man through sex, and the Bible is simply stating that this act of humiliation is wrong. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that being gay is bad.
Also, I think it's probably pretty factual to say that most people are straight. So more gay resistance comes from the natural human resistance to change or abberation from the "norm", which comes out of fear.
So, basically the anti-gay comes from a misinterpretation of the Bible and from being scared of change. Neither of which is a very good reason.

I am immensely amused by the fact that some of the religious people posting their responses are fixated on anal sex, or seem to think that this is all that gay people do. Folks, folks... most lesbians (who also count as gay) do not have anal sex, and not even all gay men engage in it.

Other than religious objections, I don't see much reason to object to homosexual interactions except for the "ewww! icky!" impulse that some people have. It seems to be a naturally occurring orientation in a certain percentage of the human species throughout history, and occurs in other animals with a fair amount of frequency. More importantly, when it happens between two consenting adults, it hurts no one that I can think of and in fact leads to greater happiness in the world.

I am a Bisexual Christian ( you should see some of the e-mails that I get when I admit that, lol ) , and I need to tell you something.

The reason why I am a Christian is because I trust God. Christians, Bi or not, use the Bible as a text- a basis for what we are to believe. It's our source in study if you will. So I can find that text in Leviticus that says that we are sinning, but I really don't think that you want to see that again.

The Law of Moses, as is explained by Jesus and Paul, was put there is show us that we are sinners. We cannot live by those rules, it's humanly impossible. So the Law of Moses convinces us that we are sinners, if we need that to figure it out!

So convinced that I am a sinner, I look to any relief I can get from anywhere, and there is Jesus! That's why He came and did what He did, to save us from that part of ourselves that is against God naturally.

So my point of reference says that it's wrong. Since I was 'Born Again' I have the Spirit of God convincing me of that too.

But this I want to say to you. God might not have that issue to work on you about. It could be something else, I don't know. So if you ever thought that you would come to God if it wasn't for that 'Gay thing' then I have a solution for you. Come to God anyways. You have to trust Him. But you can be as saved as any Fundie, even more so; because you will know that you are not perfect. Something that fundies can't seem to know.

do you really think the rear orifice is meant for sex then why doesn't it work that way and have you ever heard of cleanliness bible or not there is some thing called common sense why do they even call homosexuallity sexuality it has almost nothing to do with sex . if the genitalia are to used for pleasure outside of their primary function they should at least think of a different name for it aside from sex as sex usually implied reproduction at least till they took the word and rearranged it much like the word gay once meant happy now it means confused and miserable .what makes it right aside from the bible and all known religions comprised of a major number of people in society . if the gays dropped the perverted sex then they would have friendship and no complaints .

God created people, animals, etc. to have offspring. Can a gay couple have offspring? No. Gay is unnatural. Gay is like having a battery with two positive points and no negative point...it doesn't work. I am a male. Am I supposed to respect a male that finds sexual enjoyment by kissing, getting butt *bucked by another man or sucking on a mans Johnson ?? No way Jose.

Nothing. I am not gay, but I still don't get what the freaking problem is with it. Seems to me that all the religious folks out there would find some value in knowing that 2 people are sharing a real love for one another.

What makes being gay wrong -- other than some religious writings saying it is?

Think of it this way. Think "nature."

That depends on what you mean by "wrong". The scientific evidence points to the orientation being a congenital disorder:

"Gay men and lesbians have a 50 percent greater chance of being left-handed or ambidextrous than their straight counterparts" and left-handedness is a sign of brain damage.

"Because many of these newly identified 'gay' traits and characteristics are known to be influenced in utero, researchers think they may be narrowing in on when gayness is set—and identifying its possible triggers. They believe that homosexuality may be the result of some interaction between a pregnant mother and her fetus. Several hypothetical mechanisms have been identified, most pointing to an alteration in the flow of male hormones in the formation of boys and female hormones in the gestation of girls. What causes this? Nobody has any direct evidence one way or another, but a list of suspects includes germs, genes, maternal stress, and even allergy—maybe the mother mounts some immunological response to the fetal hormones."

“What I believe is that it is the ‘epigenetics environment,’ meaning the environment on top of our DNA—meaning the way that the gene is regulated. If you have identical twins, the genes are identical, but they are used differently. Every man and every woman has all the genes to make a vagina and womb and penis and testicles. In the same way, arguably, every man and woman has the genetic code for the brain networks that make you attracted to men and to women. You activate one or the other—and if you activate the wrong one, you’re gay.” -- Sven Bocklandt, a geneticist at UCLA

it really comes down to the fact that many men feel that the definition of manhood is threatened by homosexuals. and people that honestly believe that it is a disease that can be caught, or a behavior that can be learned or taught.

these people feel threatened, and then use religion as a weapon against it.

there is nothing wrong with it. it exists in over 450 species of animals and in roughly the same percentage of the population that humans exhibit (10 percent)
