What is the origin of the "mighty men" giants known as nephiliam?

Well, they're supposed to be the offspring of angels and humans, which is why some of the giants' bones have been found with wings. I'm not really sure myself, don't know what to believe.

Another theory is they're from the planet Nibiru, (which DOES exist by the way...it's been documented by astronomers) also known as the 10th planet, or "Planet X" and orbits our sun and is due to pass the Earth again in the year 2012...causing a pole shift on the Earth and pretty much destroying everything on the planet. The Hebrew word for giants in this verse is "nephiyl"

I was surprised that a few other responders believed that the "sons of God" in Gen 6:2 were fallen angels or devils.

When you consider that God had a reason to destroy both man and beast from upon the earth, one has to consider what was wrong with the animals.

Yes, the Anakim and Nephilim.
The giant Goliath, described in 1 Samuel,
was from the "sons of Anak" or Anakim.
Angels are sexless according to the Bible.
When they say "Sons of God", it can mean
simply "man", because Adam was called
the "son of God".
"And there were giants in the earth in those days,
mighty men, men of renown." Notice it says "men".
In Adam's gene pool he carried every characteristic
of every tribe and race of men that would ever live.
Adam had genes for pygmies, and genes for giants.
he had genes for white men, for black men, and every
other color.
So certain of his genes developed into a race of giants.
I've heard legends that some of them were 30 ft tall,
but the giant Goliath was 9 feet tall. There was a man
in modern times born Robert Wadlow in Alton Illinois
who grew to be 8' 11" tall; just one inch shy of Goliath.
Perhaps the "Bigfoot" could be surviving Anakim. Any-
how most all the giants were killed, because they were
violent and dangerous, and liked to eat human flesh; but
the gene for giants will always be in our makeup.
