My daughter has a friend that is not eating and has not for apparently a week. Please help!

I don't know . . . you can't say "wow, you look great, have you been losing weight?" because she's going to think that her starvation is causing her to look better. Hmmm . . . if your daughter's friend is already skinny, you can ask her if she's sick and tell her that she's losing weight and it doesn't look good. Other than that . . . I'm not sure there's anything anyone can do. Good night!

I have LOTS of friends like that. Normally what I do to convince them otherwise is: whenever a good situation arises, tell your daughter's friend the dangers of disorders like anorexia, or tell her if she wants to lose weight to do it in a controlled way. I REALLY hope this helps. :)

Not eating for a week? Take her to a doctor. O.O

She has an eating disorder. No amount of encouragement is going to help...Where are her parents in all this? She needs professional help. Anorexia is a deadly problem that will only get harder to deal with as time goes by. Please save her life, this is the same as alcoholism or hard drug abuse she won't stop doing it on her own no matter how bad it gets. Knowing and doing nothing is something nobody wants that on their conscience.

tell her this: she is shutting down her metabolism and as a result, will end up always starving and ending up FAT.


Most important thing you can do is this:

1-eat every 2-3 hours (1-200 cal)--6 meals a day--this speeds up your metabolism and keeps it moving. If you don't do this, your metabolism shuts down and stores fat.

2-eat only protein and vegetables.......get your fiber from nuts. Do NOT have any fruit-it will take you out of ketosis (highest state of fat burning).....Have NO bread, pasta, carbs.......again, your only carbs should be from nuts and veggies.

3--limit your dairy. Only cottage cheese and goats milk.

4--drink a minimum of 8 8 oz. glasses of water a day

5--limit caffeine--caffeine destabilized your blood sugars and causes you to eat.

6-- get to sleep no later than 10pm....your body rebuild itself between the hours of 10pm-6am........sleeping 11-7 isn't the same.

7--don't eat after a certain time of day.......if you are hundry, have herbal tea or something light-1oo calories max.

8--cook in olive oil and make sure you don't over do on fats.

9--move your body-walk, exercise......do a minimum of 30 min. every day.

10--stay away from stress......stress releases a chemical that makes your body store fat.


My doctor taught me all of these things and I've lost 30 pounds in 2 months.

well alot of people i know have a low self image they think there fat, ugly, to short, to tall. ect the best thing is to point out there quiltiys not there flaws talk to her and ask her why shes not eating also talk to the girls parents if she wont answer you shes gonna have to answer her parents some time just sit her down and ask her whats the problem if she says shes fat or what ever explain to her that you need to eat to be at a healthy weight and if she exersizes she will be in good shape

tell her that eveyone is different ant that is gud. most of my friends are skinny. but we are all just as beutifull. if she doesnt listen then some one has to tell her that not eating is verry bad and kan acctualy make u get bigger. tell her if she doesnt like the way she looks then change her diet. exersice. eat! not eating could eventualy kill her.
