So that the prophecy will be fulfilled
Matthew 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
To God be the Glory! Forever and ever! Amen!

I suspect you will dismiss the answer, but here goes anyway:
I am open to evidence. I have looked at every piece of evidence offered to me for the historical record of Jesus. Every single one. I was prepared to accept any well documented instance of contemporary mention of him. I've found none. I've read all the mentions of him from years later that I've been informed of. None has offered independent verification that he actually lived.
Despite this, my provisional opinion is that he probably was historical. I'll keep reading, but so far the evidence supports only the most tentative conclusion that he was real, which certainly doesn't objectively support claims that he worked supernatural miracles. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, not marginal evidence.
Why is this important? As long as there are people saying that my nation and the world should be governed by the teachings of someone who might not even have been real it's important that I examine whether there's enough evidence to support such a claim. When Christians stop saying that morality, government, and society must conform to the supposed desires of a figure that might not even have lived, let alone have been a god, I'll stop caring much. so far none have taken me up on the offer.

I'm here because I'm an agnostic. While I live my life under the presumption that there is no personal god including that under the Abrahamic traditions I leave room to change my mind as I know I am ignorant of much in this universe. More than most people will ever realize.

that's a pretty retarded question ppl seem to ask on here generally. you wonder why we ask questions about jesus... have you ever thought about the christians that talk about jesus all the time trying to tell us how he's true. duh.
plus, i know you'll say "you dont go on about toothefairy type fairy tales, why do you go on about jesus and god"
well
1. the tooth fairy never started a war
2. forced you to think how she wanted
3. had genocides
4. etc etc etc
annnnd
we already know you don't believe in her. so theres no use telling you how fake she is. christians will justify ranting about jesus as "we are trying to help you/enlighten you" or something like that. well. it's the same thing the other way around. telling you real reasons why it's fake is our way to attempt to stop you from wasting your life as a slave to a god that doesnt exist
annnd also. why do you ppl seem to think this is a christian thing? it's religion & spirituality. that means anything that has anything to say about it.

We are not the ones that go door to door. We are not the ones who are trying to control the government and force ourselves into schools. We are not the ones who are told everyone who's different is bad.
We ask you to prove jesus because you can't. You don't understand what proof is. Your ignorant and arrogant. It is a horrible combination.
I would love for you to justify how understanding that your zany book is made up makes any one ignorant? Isn't ignoring facts ignorant? Instead of crying about it how bout you prove us wrong? Oh that's right you can't. THE BIBLE IS MADE UP!

I am a Christian. I welcome questions from any who doubt the Bibles authenticity or the existence of Jesus. God commands that I share my faith with others and I want to obey him.(Matthew 28:19,20)
Your belief that no one will listen is untrue and not optimistic. A serious Christian is always hopeful. Some will believe.

Everyone has the right to be here. You don't really know what is in the heart of each person here. They may be bitter and hateful toward God, proclaiming to be an atheist. Yet, in their heart it may not be how they really feel. Don't be so quick to judge. Patience is a virtue.
