Well if you look at Amanda's link, it would show 4 to 5 million Mexicans. That's about half of all illegal immigrants. New zealand wasn't even listed. Some reason Ireland listed as negative two thousand. I don't remember Canada, but I think it was a hundred thousands. 4 million compared to a hundred thousand????
I write stuff, about Asian Indians, Chinese, Polish, Russians, El Salvadoreans, Filipinos as well as Mexicans. Frankly, Mexico is the most urgent problem.
What I see in this site is a lot of Mexico first type attitude.
Illegal immigration obviously benefits Mexicans above other nationalities. Just look at the link Amanda gave. If I suggest that we close our doors and open immigration so we have a more fair distribution of immigrants, a lot of the pro's would all be yelling at me. Why should we support a RACIST institution like illegal immigration which is so obvious that it favors Hispanics. We should close our doors and let people in b a more fair requirement, other than proximity to our border. If we want to let people in for compassion, then we should let people in that are the poorest, like those from Africa.
IF the PRO-AMNESTY ARE NOT RACIST why should we create a immigration system that favor Mexicans over other ethnic groups.
Sorry to the moderates in here. Her question was a bit obnoxious.

Its really not racism for most, its not. That's it, it is not racism so please stop pulling out the race card. The other immigrants you mention are simply not in the numbers that mexicans are...its a faulty premise, its apples and oranges. The other immigrants you mention are not in the droves that mexicans are and they simply do not try to inflict their third world culture on the US like Mexicans do. The Mexican border will be the route terrorists take into this country because mexico itself is so lawless and corrupt. And they are taking all these jobs and driving down wages...you don't hear much about the New Zealanders hanging out at Home depot. And Irish is not our second language in the US. Its too easy to cry racism and no one is buying it anymore anyway because that's such a slippery, devious way out of criminality. We have a right to be concerned with a tremendous influx of illegal immigrants who generally don't like America just the money. Its a turning point for the US and the great country we have built must continue to stand as a beacon of greatness and not allow a population of uneducated third world people to trash it up.

Most people talk about Mexico because it's the closest country to us and because a large amount of illegals come from there. That is why it is the subject of illegal immigration debates, when in fact it should be everyone...but because it's an easy target, they take advantage of it. Illegal immigration is illegal immigration. It makes no difference to me if it's Mexicans or Europeans.

When I address it im talking about all illegals regardless of origin.
However, how many Irish, Kiwi or Canadian marches have you seen?
how many flags have you seen at marches besides the Mexican National flag?
How many Canadians, New Zealanders or Irish cant speak english and are demanding the USA cater to their language?
Do we have a huge human and drug smuggling problem from Ireland, New Zealand or Canada?
Are the majority of illegals from any of those 3 places?
Do many of the most wanted criminals in most states or nationally come from those countries?
The problems is what it is.
Amanda your list of the entirety of illegals from all of Europe is only a small fraction of the illegals coming from Mexico and Central American countries.

It has nothing to do with color. At least not for me! I don't care if they're white, black, rich, poor, whatever! If they don't have the respect for our country to become LEGAL citizens, then they shouldn't be here. We can't just keep taking people in... no country can! Democrats/liberals complain about unemployment, yet they usher in millions of illegal immigrants - it doesn't make much sense does it? And I'm sick of hearing "They only take jobs that no one else wants!" That's so untrue! I know plenty of unemployed people who are looking for jobs (even minimum wage jobs), who would love to be working some of these jobs that illegals have. Around here, they do a lot of landscaping work - I have friends who'd love working landscaping.
So anyhow, it's not a matter of racism or color. It's a matter of politics and the well-being of our nation. If they want to go through the correct procedures to become US citizens, I'd gladly welcome them! I have too many friends who ARE trying to become citizens legally, and it's rough! It takes a lot of time and effort, but if they want to live here so badly, isn't it worth it! It's sad to see those who are trying to get into the states the right way being somewhat punished for those who do it the wrong way. It makes me sick.

I don't care WHICH country they're from. If they're here ILLEGALLY they don't deserve the civil rights of native born and PROPERLY NATIONALIZED American citizens.
I recognize that we are a country of immigrants but there are sound reasons for having a strictly defined and enforced border. The attempts by many in the U.S. federal government to weaken our borders/national identity will eventually result in lower wages, questions about obeyance of environmental regulations (the standards in Mexico and Canada differ from ours), and a deluge of people seeking to take advantage of government programs from an increasingly bloated Fed.
Besides that, giving a rubber stamp to every illegal alien amounts to a slap in the face to immigrants who play by the rules.

Are you really that naive?
The main reason most people "pick" on mexicans is due to numbers, nothing else.
The vast majority of illegal aliens are mexican - that is a fact.
The vast majority of recipients of the previous amnesties were mexicans - that is a fact.
So people naturally put the two together and know that the majority of mexican born people in this country are illegal or were at some point illegal. That pisses people off. Too bad too sad.

12+ percent of Mexico's total population live in the U.S.
Crossing a nation's border illegally is a crime and so anyone who does this is automatically a CRIMINAL, I don't care what the motive is. "But they just come here for a better life!" Do it legally instead of disrespecting America's laws.
Mexico's idea of economic reform is to send their poor, uneducated lower class across the border to the U.S. and America's idea of strengthening its own economy is to pay $2 per hour to the illegals instead of minimum wage, pocketing the difference. The governments of both nations are responsible and either one can stop it but neither want to.
And what about the throngs of hispanic gang members who are coming to America to set up their idiotic factions- gun-running, pushing drugs and stealing stereos or whatever they do for income. Yeah some are here for honest work so we might as well let in the murderers, rapists and thieves who are flooding across with them. Right??
People need to take action against illegal immigration because it is exploiting those who want to work here and the rest are a menace to everyone else.

Greece isn't white, they're Mediterranean.
Spain? Spanish people are white?
Wow, I guess you learn something every day.
But out of 12 million people, the "white people" by your own numbers are extremely small in percentages, no?
But even adding Spain and Greece as "white people", that only makes about 8-9% of illegals white.
Gee, I wonder what those people were thinking, lumping the 8% in with the 92%.
