You can only live off base with certain permission depending on what rank you are. Usually those that have higher rank such can live off base. And of course any airman that is married or has custody of his children can live off base.
Sorry to say if your boyfriend is new to the airforce he will be required to live on base and they airforce won't let him move off base just because you can't live without him.

For basic training and tech school..no, even if you were married he will have to live on post, in the dorms. Once he is finished training, it is also highly unlikely they would allow him to live off base until he achieves a certain rank and paygrade. The only thing that can change this is getting married. When he is eligable to move off base, he will need to ask permission and provide proof that he is responsible enough and financially ready to take this on...no bouncinng checks, no crediters calling. He will then get a housing allowance from the military, but since he isn't married it would be single rate and for the lower enlisted it usually is not enough for them to pay for a place on thier own.
Your sweetie is joing the military. Every military wife will tell you that weather they are deployed or home, there will be large stretches of time when you won't have time togehter. The military ALWAYS comes first...period. If you can not handle being apart or feel like you could not handle day to day issues on your own, a military life (even is he only does a single enlistment) is not for you. As you are not even married yet, the military will put no consideration into how his job is affecting your relationship. Not to be nasty, but this is the truth. Also, and this is what any military wife will tell you, your boyfriend is the one who should find all of this out as the answers he is given will generally be the correct ones, with the most recent updates and information available. Asking here is fine, but anything you are told should be checked before you take it as being the correct answer for you.

Hate to burst your bubble, but your boyfriend/fiancee will not be living off base when he gets to his first permanent duty station. If he's in Tech School right now, that means he's probably an E-2 or E-3. He's not going to be authorized BAH as a single E-2/E-3. Until your are married, you don't exist as far as the military is concerned.

not always, no.
Definitely not during Basic Training and schooling.
After he done with all his training, it will depend on where he is sent and what the policies are. Typically single servicemembers under E4 MAY NOT live anywhere off base, only in the Barracks, and no, you can't live with him the barracks.
if the barracks are full, or he reaches a high enough paygrade, he might be able to live out in town.
Additionally, he could be sent overseas, and unless you are married, you can't go with him.. and for certain places Like Korea.. even if you are married you can't always go with him.
plus, without you being married, you will have to pay for the move entirely out of pocket with no reimbursement.

Single Airmen are required to live in the dorms until they reach the rank of E-5. That will take him about 4 1/2 years. That is the way it is in the AF. They want him to focus on his job and training. Even though he will be out of Tech School he will spend his first several years training on the job. I'm sorry but you will have to live without living with him for awhile. The mission comes first THEN your family but since you are only his girlfriend you don't even qualify as family to the AF.

If he is single and just going in the AF.. then no.. he'll be in the dorms unless they are full, then he will get BAH and CAN move off base. The dorms being full is pretty rare though, so don't count on it. And no.. you cannot live in the dorms with him.

Single airmen can live offbase with permission only, unless there isn't enough room in the barracks. Used to be that permission wasn't granted for first-term airmen, but I don't know if that's still applicable.

yeah you can, but if you're not married, it will take a couple of years for him to get permission to live off base, depending on what base he is stationed at, and his job.
