Do you mean more like the Americans and forgetting our beliefs.??????
I think if you believe everything written in the Quran, and the Prophets saying then you can easily be and American and still be a pure Muslim. There is no place in the world right now where modernism isn't spreading where people want to be just like the others and want to be popular.
One can be popular and modern but, one must never forget their base and their religion.

in other words do you consider yourself a Muslim American or an American Muslim? its all in how you look at it....or how others look at it. ive had people claim that im not really a muslim cause Im american...as if the two are separate and can never be mixed.

You can act American/French/Saudi/Russian as long as these actions don't conflict with Islamic teaching.

I live an American life that doesn't contradict with Islam.

Allah said:
O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full Knowledge and is well-acquainted (with all things). 49:13

meaning to know each others habits and traditions.

Why do they have to be two mutualy exclusive things????

I am so sick of this thought process!

You do know don't you that the cultures of Mecca & Medina were (and still are a bit) different? Yet they're both Muslim!

Thanks for your honesty.

Many Muslims try to lie to non-Muslim Americans and claim that the two are not contradictory, yet they say something totally different to their fellow Muslims. At least your honest about this point.
