Christians keep talking peace and love but their "fruits" are nothing but war, war machines and invasions for resources.

I sort of don't agree with you , it nothing to do with religion but personnel concept of life and behaviour....not all Cristians/Buddhist or even Muslims can get rid of greed, anger and ignorance, all wars are created due to the 3 things mention above( it won't out of these 3 possibilities ), but if human or great leaders of countries can get rid of those "poisons", the world will sure be in peace....
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some misunderstand:
* Besides all that, Buddhism offers no eternal security or hope beyond this life....
- U sure, we buddhist take things as nature. We dont crave, this will reduce the thoughts of greed.
We know that when we do good deed, talk good words we will have a better life...be it this life or next or even it won't .Most important is the other parties happy, we are happy....thus creat harmony between people and people, nation and nation, countries and countries.

* Buddhists do not believe in a Divine being, therefore they have no concept of salvation and atonement for wrong doings. Compare those beliefs to Christianity, wherein God provided His Son Jesus as redemption for our sins.
While Buddhism claims there is no beginning and end, we are shown through Christianity and Judaism the Creation and God's plan for our eternity.
- I totally don't agree....No offense to Christian - Since God provided His Son Jesus as redemption for our sins. Can you tell Jesus to help us to go to jail if we kill someone? That's not practical right?
Buddhism teaches us to think first when we commit or act ....This will stop us from creating a Cause and Effect consequences...rather then we call Jesus to redemption our sins after our wrong doing.

*In Buddhism, there is no forgiveness or mercy from a loving God.
As I have said before ones must bear the consquences for wrong doing in order to ask for mercy and love from god....

* Oh yeah Buddhism, that peaceful religion those nice people who bombed Pearl Harbour follow.
You don't know the first thing about Buddhism. Buddhists were killing each other long before Christ perminantly stirred up Isreal.
- like I have said it's nothing to do with religion but personnel concept of life and behaviour.

I think u need to go in depth about Buddhism to clear your misconcepts.
And need you think about why:

Christians you are ceased to be CORNERED!!?
If you Christians stopped and thought for a second on how ridiculous your religion is you would be enlightened!
When God created Adam He did not intend for him to have a mate(Eve) nor did He intend for Adam to have kids. The funny thing is that after Adam sinned God decided for Adam and Eve to bear children. After Adam sinned God knew what torment and sin all the children of Adam would have, yet God came up with this plan AFTER Adam sinned! Why would God want Adam to have children after he sinned??? God could have just punished Adam and that's it. Why let Adam create an entire sinful human race? Keep in mind that God never intended for Adam to have children since God created Eve due to Adam's lack of companionship. So God decided on the plan of having an entire race of sinful humans AFTER Adam sinned. Does this not make God sadistic? Why would God CHOOSE to spread Adam's sin, resulting in His own son's(Jesus) torment and sacrifice?
Have you Christians ever thought of this???

I am a Christian and actually there is a degree to which I agree with you. You are able to live a rich, rewarding, loving , happy life without Jesus. Jesus in your heart does complicate things and causes every action to be reconsidered. This is actually very draining sometimes. But I will tell you it is worth it because even though there are times without the wonderful, the rewarding , and the richness, the peace in my heart is what gets me through. So if you are at the bottom of the barell without the peace that is when it concerns me. To each his own and truly if you are living right and are a kind loving person why do you think you are being judged by Christians. It's not the business we are suppose to be in! If you are being judged they are wrong! I am not ticked off that you don't believe in "the sky fairy", I am not ticked off at all! I love you regardless! Michele

Every religion has had their own war story, so I don't see how all this people, including asker always come up with, how come christians or buddhists or muslims whatever,... aren't peaceful. Most countries at least if not all countries have been at war at least sometime in their history, and every country has a religious preference. So in your case you happened to have noticed the way of christian countries, well, it is not like that for everyone. Not everyone agrees with President Bush. Not every muslim is a terrorist and not every buddhist likes communism.

There is a movie called "Peace One Day" Please watch this movie. If you don't. Please celebrate Sept. 21st as a world cease fire day. Thank you.

Buddhism+Christianity=Confusion

These two cultures are taught to hate each other by use of dogma and misturths. Your lives with tell you the truth, this is the Dharma. Egotism brings short bursts of thrill and end with dispare. Caring and generosity might at times be painful but lead to a peaceful and happy state of mind. This is very simple. There is a deep connection between the two traditions. That connection is in your heart and ability to accept others.

Loving-Kindness Thy Enemy.

Peace and Blessings

I think that all religions need to adopt a TRUE way of peace. I'm sick of hearing about some war being fought because they are two religions.

Lots of war are fought because of greed, they have the misconception that money is everything,in the dollar bill the words'in God we trust'a letter 'l' is misplaced,it was supposed to be printed as 'in Gold we trust',it is sad that the religion of most people now is gold.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone realized that this is a non-issue?

We can't all be Christian....we can't all be Buddhist....we can't all be the same.

If we all lived on the same side of the world and were all taught the same exact language, religion, and philosophy....we could all be more adapted to one ideology.

Live and let live......A Peaceful way of life is within each of us, regardless of our choice of religion.

It's not Christians doing this(war, etc), it's governments. Peace would be nice.

As Buddha & Christs teachings are based on knowing oneself it would be terrific--Unfortunately many Christians think associating themselves with the teacher is more important than the actual teachings.
