Can you really be happy believing that Christians are so superior to others that they have the right to proselytize to death? Could you truly feel alright enough with your God to realize that a book of antiquity is not the basis for morality. Could you gain knowledge believing that what was written then pertained to them and no longer pertains to most of us? Could you find him omnipotent and ubiquitous enough that you realize God and the very idea of god is constantly changing? Could you forgive him for ordering the deaths of millions of people?

Can you handle the fact that an all-loving god would send ANYONE to a place of eternal torment? I mean, there are some truly terrible people in the world but most of the rest of us do the best we can with what we have and what we know. Some are compassionate and humanitarian BECAUSE they know that any 'creator' or 'god-like' figure who would ascribe traits that he hated to his own creations? Can you recognize that hiding behind the Adam & Eve Excuse ("Oh, God was just doing it so we could all get to heaven") automatically takes away God's godliness because it makes him seem cruel and manipulative.

And I know of NO ONE who feels happy that Jesus, or anyone else crucified, died painfully. I was reading the Wiki definiton of crucifixion earlier in the day and it is truly a disgusting, vile, and cruel way to torture and kill anyone. Can you be happy knowing that God has allowed such tortures on earth? If he created then he knew damn well what he was doing. "Free will" is NOT "do it my way or I'll torment you eternally in hellfire". If you want to believe in love, do that. If you'd like to ascribe the name "God" to it, do that too. But please try not to be supercilious and feel that Christians know so much more than everyone else. Salvation lies not in the human games of "I believe this so I'm going to heaven! You believe this so you're going to hell!" It lies in being compassionate and kind and making the most of your time here on earth so that at the end, whatever happens, you can be proud that you were a decent, good human being rather than a fundamentalist tyrant.

Can you see that I as an atheist am more than willing to accept you as a theist but that I resent having your beliefs pushed down myu throat as the "truth" just as much as you would if I did to you the same thing?

Hell is Hebrew word for Grave?? Jesus died a appropriate sinless guy, so why might God placed him in a fiery place to torment him?? He did not!! because of the fact in actuality there isn't any such place as a Fiery Hell the place God torments the depraved sinners. many faiths tutor approximately hell is a myth, they tutor that the soul is going on living after dying!! incorrect the soul is the full man or woman. Scripture says "The soul it particularly is sinning it itself will Die!! Now think of approximately this, How might you experience if a neighbour replaced into punishing his newborn with the aid of preserving his provide up a flame, while he did incorrect! that doesn't be a suitable and loving element might it?? yet God is a God of affection. So why might he punish us with the aid of putting us in a fiery Hell as punishment?? the element is he does not. Ecc 9:5 says the living are wakeful they are going to die yet as for the lifeless they're wakeful of not something in any respect. meaning then they have not got any soreness. The lifeless go decrease back to the floor and end to exist.

I always thought that a true Christian would feel bad about all those people destined for hell, especially those who are decent people who happen to follow the wrong religion.

Those 'Christians' who get a kick out of damning others to hell seem like very hateful people to me. Also, Jesus said "Judge not, lest thou be judged, for the judgment ye give ye shall receive" which seems to imply that the false Christians who damn others to hell might end up in hell themselves if there is a Judgment Day...

It's painful to know that some people would still go to hell even after the death of our Savior. But we should still be glad bcos it pleases GOd to see us glad and rejoicing in Him. We are not glad that Jesus suffered a painful death but we are glad that someone still loved us even when we were yet sinners and came to deliver us from our bondage. I think u shouldn't focus on the idea of pple still going to hell but the chance of still winning them to Christ as far as they are alive. Just try ur best and always remain glad not bcos of the suffering Jesus went through but bcos of how fortunate u are to be among the redeemed of the Lord.

God is not happy to see people be eternally destroyed and neither are Christians.(Ezekiel 18:32)However, He and his servants are happy that the evil things the wicked do will be done away with.
As to the suffering Jesus went through, that did not please God, but he was pleased with what the results of the sufferings would be: eternal life for those who accepted Jesus' ransom sacrifice.

These people have every right to go to Hell. They have the GOD GIVEN right of free will. Do you deny God's gift to them? What other people do with their lives is beyond your control. Why are you going to waste time and energy trying to affect things that are beyond your control? Shouldn't you be more concerned with your own journey?

Jesus himself said in Matthew 7:6 - "Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you." Meaning that you cannot teach someone who is not ready. Stop trying to save the world, that's Jesus' job. Just worry about you and the people you encounter who are ready.

With love,
Shane

You are making a lot of assumptions.

You assume there is a hell.

You assume that the only way to get there is AFTER death.

To me, the better question is:
How can we be happy while millions in the world now are suffering?

Here's another good one:
How can you be happy knowing that you WILL die one day?

Hey, I'm going to hell. Coincidence? No, science. Hell is fake, you are living a lie.

Of course. One of the benefits of being a limited and mortal creature, is that we aren't aware of everything all the time. Don't focus on what doesn't help.
