i never thought bout these verses till tonight and i started thinking of this category.

1 Corinthians 1:21-24
21) For since, in the wisdom of God, the WORLD through WISDOM did NOT know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
22) For JEWS request a SIGN, and Greeks seek after WISDOM;

23) but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks FOOLISHNESS,
24) but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

has anyone else actually thought of these verses before?

...basically men who are hell bent on a selfish destructive course will view the Bible and the Trinity as foolish and weak because it interferes with their plans for pursuing human frailties. God left a great part of the world to follow the dictates of man's disbelief, and this has shown that human wisdom is folly, and is unable to find or retain the knowledge of God as the Creator. The Gospel ever was, and ever will be, foolishness to all in the road to destruction. .But when the world-wise finally come to understand the Doctrine of Christ, then the Truth is made all the more powerful and strong through their preachings.....

A very difficult passage to understand, I hope I have tried to explain it well...

well I have read them.

Reading the Bible and understanding what it really is saying is better than being told what it means.

If everyone beleived but was unwilling to work, there could be lots of confusion I guess. Therefore the message was made out of beleif (irrational "Foolishness") and faith so that willing minds who were called would be separated, or something, I'm not sure. At the time the only Bible the Jews had was the Old Testament. If they did not interperet the way that God's Son would come, they would not beleive. But Greeks and others were either philosophers (wisdom) or a lot of them might join or discard Jewish faith without much informed thought.

the Gospel of Jesus Christ is so simple and yet mysterious.
Yes... I read the Word of God because my very life has depended on it. I also keep myself in the company of good Bible believing, in love with Jesus folks as well.
The Word of God will become so real to you if you'll read it with the quest in your heart... 'I Want To Know More!' <><

Yes, I have and Paul was right on too...during that time period. His words are true today too. The embracing of all who accept Him and truly pick up their crosses and carry them. But, we do not carry them alone! Through His power and His wisdom, we manage and keep "running the good race of faith."

In general, biblical verses are a waste of time, and these are no exception.
