My 14th birthday is tomorrow, August 1, I have to go to the Eye Doctor. It's been a little bit over a year since I've been. Is there a way to talk my way out of it? LOL. I HATE going to anything that has DR. at the beginning of the name. LOL.

This is my 3rd time going. It aint no new thing to me. I have contacts. I've had them for a little bit over a year now. The guy who said "Shoot your mommy." SCREW YOU! I don't care if you're joking or not! I pray to the good lord to keep my mama safe every night! This might sound crazy, but she's one of my BESTEST friends! She's always there for me! And I have a lot of other good friends too. But she's my best! I can depend on her, and I know I can tell her anything and she want look at me crazy.

I'm not rich or anything. I'm not even close to be rich! I think the insurance covers that whole thing. So it don't cost us anything (i think).

I understand not liking going to the doctor much..but just like checkups, your eyes need checkups every year or two. You're at the age where your eyes COULD start changing more often.

If you do not want to go today, see if you can reschedule for a day that ISN'T your birthday. I do my yearly physicals around the time of my birthday, but never on them lol I schedule my kids' physicals within 1-2 weeks after their birthdays. I have to have a tetanus shot update this year...and I'm NOT looking forward to it, so I made my yearly appointment for the next day lol

The best way to keep yourself and your eyes healthy is to have them checked on a regular basis...you have been to the eye doctor before...is there something in particular you do not like about this eye doctor? Personality? Do not think this one does a real good job? Eye exams, to me, are easier than just about ANY other exam out there :) There's no poking...just a bright lights, reading the eye chart, and going through finding my prescription.

I'd talk with your mom or dad...whomever is taking you today...see if you can reschedule for another day...this is YOUR birthday and if you would go on another day, that would be good. Tell your mom or dad that you'd rather go to lunch somewhere :) But do go at some point.

Happy Birthday!

Well my younger brother has that problem. So tell ur mom that u can't go on ur birthday and u'll make it up. Everybody hates doctors but their important. My eyes really hurt and i avoided going to my eye doctor for a while like say a year,...hum.... but when i finally went i felt good. An eye doctor shouldn't hurt.
By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

I would go and get it over with. Otherwise it is about 3-4 months before usual appointments can be made. Woudln't you rather just get it over with?

Or talk to your mom or dad and say it's my birthday and I'd really like to not go to the doctor today.

You're going to have to go sooner or later i advice you just go tomorrow. I didnt like the eye doctor either until last year when he said i needed glasses and my mom agreed to getting me contacts..so i got colored contacts. IF you need glasses and wnat contacts considerign your going on your birthday it may be easier to persuade you parents =] Goodluck though.

Look on the bright side; the eye doctor doesn't usually give shots or stick ice-cold hands/impliments into sensitive body areas!

Your dread lasts infinitly longer than the exam. Just do it. And, the exam aside, happy birthday.

You are lucky to get eye care. In this world there are milions of people who don't, because they can't afford it.
Consider yourself privileged, and grow the heck up!
