I was answering a question earlier about bigotry and how we as a Society seem to be progressing beyond it. Yet, I thought how much more violence there seemed to be.
Why is it that people feel the need to resort to violence to get their points across? Why hurt another person just because you don't believe in, what they do or in how they love?
We wouldn't want anyone to do that to someone *we* Loved, so how could any human being do that to another??
One person's bloody hatred ends up being some one else's battered child.
Why?

Well RO7 we are in the right section of Y!A for an answer to this one For the Love of God, Why? This is going to seem like a simplistic cop out but here goes anyway.

God made man in his own image. Put him in the Garden and told him to care for it. Gave him a companion to share it with. Gave them just one rule. Don't eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and bad. They didn't obey.

Actual story of what happened or tale to educate, that all actions have repercussions?

Flash foreward to a later time when an observation was made about the Mosaic Law. Man rules over man to his injury. Why was this observasion made? Because the preists had put before the people of ancient Isreal more emphasis on the traditions of man than the law of God. The preists place a heavy burdon on their people that was oppressive and injurious to the peoples morale because it was impossible to meet the demands, based in greed and power over the people, of the preists edicts for traditions vs the law.

Fast forward to today. The same observations can be made today Man rules man to his injury. The massive numbers of rules and regulations we live under are injurious to the spirit of mankind. They take man away from the worship of love and peace and of God. By the very nature of mans laws and traditions block mans understanding of the true nature of what it meant to be created in the image of God.

It is interesting that Jesus said of himself "He who has seen me has also seen the Father" This was not a boast of a deity but a simple statement of the love God has for mankind, being that Jesus' mission was one of love, to release the Isrealites of the burdon of the Mosaic Law and institue a new covenant with all of mankind not just the Isrealites.

Again, today mankind is in need of relief of the burdon placed on them. The laws and prejudices of society mark mankind for distruction if he doesn't change his ways of greed, hate, intolerence, etc. It is best put at 2Timothy 3:1-5 1 But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, 3 having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, 4 betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

So you see this time has been foretold over two thousand years ago. It is an evil time and the only thing that will change it is Love. Because Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

The more we remove the existence of God from our country, the less respect our country has for another's life. It becomes a country who care only about 'me' and 'what do I get out of it'.

Yes, we have accepted that many races exist and the racism is not as high as it once was. But just as our country has accepted this, our schools begin to teach there is no God through evolution. So now we wonder how come there are so many different races and if maybe some races got left behind and so are a bit dumber. Racism returns.

We take God out of our country and life has no meaning. We live it to see what we can gain before we die - so the goal is money and how much we can get so we can live the 'good life' before we die and go into nothingness. How sad is that to not know there is a whole new world that God has created for His believers. Our rewards are not here on earth but wait for us in Heaven.

So now God has no meaning to the younger generation who are now adults - they think God is just someone's imagination because their school taught evolution as fact. So what does life mean? Nothing. Oops - got pregnant? Get an abortion. It is nothing but a blob that can't survive on its own anyway.

That animal is suffering and being tortured. Who cares - it's just an animal and life means nothing.

That child just doesn't listen - well I'll teach that child to listen - so begins abuse.

That child is crying because no one cares - shut the stupid kid up - it's annoying and disturbing me - more abuse.

Our country is now a bunch of 'me' people who put themselves first because there are no consequences. There is no guilt. There is no love.

Life without God is life without Love.

God loves all unconditionally. God gave us unfastened will understanding complete nicely that everybody human beings ought to apply that unfastened will to cut up ourselves from the countless. So why might God end loving us if we are in basic terms work out the unfastened will that "he" gave to us in the 1st place. God hopes all us will make a greater powerful decision and seek for oneness with God particularly than separation even though it continues to be our unfastened will to no longer seek for this oneness. truthfully we are all extensions of the countless, yet we could desire to realize that interior of ourselves in the previous that's a take place certainty in our beings. additionally there is quite little distinction between Christians and Atheists. the two deny God. Atheists deny God exists in any respect on an analogous time as Christians deny God lives interior of themselves. They try this regardless of the shown fact that Jesus reported that the dominion of God is interior of you.

Honestly, I don't know. Violence is not a big part of my makeup so I really don't understand a lot about it....I think that people use violence because of feelings of inadequacy and self loathing...but I'm not a psychologist, nor do I pretend to be. I'm reading a really interesting book right now called "Emotional Intelligence" --it was first released about 1995 but it still applies today...you might find it interesting.

There are some really good and truthful answers here, and a bunch of answers that the writer does not know the truths of the Bible. We are living in a fallen world (sin exists) and the truth of the end times (before Jesus calls His church - means us, not the buildings or even the denominations but the believers in Him) as has been written in the Book of Revelation.

That is nature, every thing eats everything else. The human species is the worst offender, we have assembly lines designed for slaughtering the animals we eat and we have train millions of our kind to protect us from each other. The love of God nothing to do with anything.

The usual reasons like wealth land power. All the lusts of the flesh. All of this from people that refuse to follow a doctrine of love and forgiveness. Let Jesus be your guide. God Bless!

It's called "fear"
People are afraid of what they don't understand and especially what they don't care to understand.

Fear is also the opposite of "love"
1 John 4:18 says "there is no fear in love, but perfect love throws fear outside, because fear exercises a restraint. Indeed he that is under fear has not been made perfect in love."

I love dear otter but in my opinion the trolls & bigots need to be taught a lesson & a gay man or a black man beating them to a pulp might shut them up. I know you don't agree but maybe it would stop some of the hate.
