A Witch is someone who practices witchcraft to help better the world and mankind. A witch is NOT someone who is ugly, worships the devil, or hurts people

Witch is a name given to someone who works with magical powers and natural substances and uses them to help and heal. Magic can be used for both good and evil, but is generally used solely for the good.

Why not why would someone want to be a Catholic ??????

Love & Blessings

First of all, I'm not a witch...
However I think the attraction of it is: People think they are doing good, and trying to improve the world/society around them by honoring nature inspired gods/goddesses...

Witches don't believe in Satan, and therefor refuse to acknowledge that they have any affiliation with evil/Satan,etc...

I think overall, witches view witchcraft as neutral, compared to most other religious affiliations.

witch is a christian word that was given to cultures that they first met that had different rituals than they have ever seen. so they thought it was evil because they never saw it before and because it was different and they didn't understand it. and you know what people do when they don't understand something they try to destroy it. stop using the word witch

The idea of control is very appealing and witchcraft lends that. I still marvel at how someone can believe that but then again take away the candles and dark eyeliner and it's still as ridiculous to me as any other religion. Although most witchs these days aren't trying to summon demons and such but using their "magic" for good.

For the same reason anyone would want to be a christian, or a buddhist, or a catholic, or a muslim, or a druid: spiritual betterment that spills over to affect the rest of one's life in a positive way.

Until I see real "Harry Potter-esque" magic being thrown about, a witch today is basically just a goth/emo kid who graduated high school but didn't grow up. All those kids do what they do for the same reasons, they want the attention but are too callow do it in a normal way. So they dress to be "different" and yet they all dress the same ... talk about a contradiction in terms.

Try doing some research on "witchcraft" - or wicca, neo-paganism, and other earth-based religions. There are a lot of good resources out there!
