My galfriend is getting married after she graduates this year, and she and her fiance have been looking for a good wedding song. She says she thinks the song "How Do I Live", by LeAnne Rimes is a good one, but when I asked my mom's singer friend who sang it (before I knew it was LeAnne Rimes), he said it was a breakup song. I don't think it is, because she's saying IF the guy broke up with her, she'd be sad. (Examples: "How do I get through a night without you, IF I had to live without you, what kind of life would that be?", "You're my world, my heart, my soul, IF you ever leave, well baby you would take away everything good in my life.", "How do I breathe without you, IF you ever go", "I'd be lost IF I lost you"; etc.) What do y'all think? Predicament here! ^^

I have always thought good wedding song, i personally love that song, if your friend wants to play it, play it! Tell her it is what she makes it to be. Plus not to worry it really is a love song, she does say if. and i am sure if your girlfriends fiance broke up with her she would feel the songs feelings, I hope she plays it
Congrats to the lucky couple. May they be happy and together forever!!

Well, LeAnne is a country music singer, and you know how the story goes about country songs....I believe the song is about two people who probably are already married, and she feels that he has made her feel complete with the union.

How about a song by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, entitled,
I Need You." Heard it at a concert, and it was moving.

For a different kind of wedding song, I found a song at an antique shop entitled, "Wedding Prayer," written by Fern Glasgow Dunlap. Someone musically inclined could probably change the tempo and sing it for them...I can't read music, so I can't tell you how it sounds, sorry.

This is a breakup song, and your "galfriend" needs to be given a copy of the song lyrics to read *without the music to distract her.* You should be able to find the lyrics to the song on-line so that you can print them out.

Your predicament makes me think back to a story that my pastor told my wife and I about couples who picked "Every Breath You Take" by The Police to play during their wedding, not realizing that the song is really about a man stalking a woman.

The "secret" to picking that special song, which EVERYONE will remember, is this:
It MUST be a song that cannot be misconstrued as anything but a song declaring the Love of the newly married couple.
You have already admitted to us that the song can be defined either way. This should automatically tell the Bride-to-be that it's the wrong choice.

Bad choice for a wedding song. It's not about someone who has broken up...its about a woman trying to deal with the fact that this person is about to die/will die.

I think if you take a little more time you can find a song that is a little more wedding.

Definitely NOT a break up song. That's one of the first songs I sang for my fiance. We both love it though he makes fun of me because I can't always remember all the words :-P

It is defiantly a love song, weather break up or wedding. Just don't let her choose Follow Me by Uncle Kracker. people think it is a love song, but it is really about using heroin.

I think it could be either because you are saying that you can't live without the person. I sing it to my husband all the time!
