Food for thought a quote by Anthony De Mello
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a world where everybody said,
'We don't know?'
The fact is that you're surrounded by God and you don't see God,
Because you KNOW ABOUT God.
The final barrier to the vision of God is your God concept.
You miss God because you think you know.
The highest knowledge of God is to know God as unknowable.
All revelations, however divine, are never any more than a finger pointing at the moon.
As we say in the East, 'When the sage points to the moon,
All the idiot sees is the finger'.
Love & Blessings

And the logical basis for ANY religion would be...?
The basis for atheism in logic and reason is the simple fact that there is not a single shred of objective, verifiable evidence that any God or gods exist. The deities of the various religions, for the most part, are not compatible with either each other or observed reality. In the absence of evidence that such beings exist, there is no compelling reason to believe in them.
True, one cannot conclusively prove that NO form of god exists. Nor can one conclusively prove that the invisible flying incorporeal dragon in my shed does not exist. It may simply be hiding. But a god who cannot be detected or communicated with in any way is indistinguishable from a god that does not even exist. And a god that lies about its existence is not worthy of worship anyway.

I am not an atheist, but I believe Atheism is the most logical philosophy, since no-one has ever been able to prove the existence of any deity.
There's a reason it's called "faith," you know.

If you ask me, atheism has very basic foundational reasoning on its side. It goes a little something like this:
Joe wonders if X exists
So Joe looks for evidence to suggests that X exists
And Joe also thinks about the likelihood that X exists based on what is confirmed to exist
But Joe's search turns up no credible evidence or theories
So Joe must conclude that X is non-existent
Otherwise, Joe would have to disprove the existence of space unicorns, the flying spaghetti monster, and every other silly concept
And Joe doesn't have that kind of time

Atheism most certainly does have a strong basis in logic and reason. Heck, it's the default belief of somebody who hasn't had his head filled with dogma. It's people who assert the existence of a deity, angels, demons, and other spiritual stuff like that--without a shred of empirical evidence--who are not using logic and reason.

Atheism is based on logic and reason. How logical or reasonable is it to believe is an all powerful supreme being without any evidence what so ever?

Yes, I think so because the Story of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit, and the cain and able, heaven and hell story might have been just a story conjured up by ancient people explain things and maintain control over their little ones. So people wouldn't kill one another. Then I think the story just got severly out of hand and got passed down with less discipline. With all that being said. I do think there is alot of value to the ancient scriptures and they should be read in order to find out what they meant.

Atheism is ALL logic and reason. It's reasonable to not believe in imaginary men in the sky who loves us yet wants us to burn in hell for eternity if we don't play the game the way he wants.

Atheism is in fact as probable as Theism, as no party can logically prove whether or not God exists. So its just a matter of what suits your mood. I personally believe in a god, but science has disproven a lot of myths about God that refusing them would be blasphemy, as it would mean that God tried to trick us.

No, there is no logic or reason for being an atheist .... .you are born this way. The only logical truth.
There is no logic or reason to pray to imaginative creature .... however, people still do. The only illogical truth.
