I have had a bred conures for years. They really are not talkers. They are screamers ofr the most part. My conures talk to me by making a variety of sounds but I have never had one that speaks.

Generally with most birds only the male will talk. Some females do but it is rare.

try to imitate the highness or the lowness of the bird's voice then say the word in the tone

They aren't known for being good talkers. Mine never did, and many won't.
