When I am sleeping, I have to have the covers over my head or else I feel like there is something behind me. :/ It's really hard on hot nights. Can someone help me find a way that will help me be cool and comfortable.

Try getting another pillow and just put it over your eyes and your forehead.

Talk about your fear of someone being behind you...etc. As you lay there at night, look around the room to reassure yourself that there is nobody in the room. Tell yourself that your room is safe and it is OK to go to sleep with the covers not over your head. If this is a real problem for you a professional can help you learn how to cope. You can explore what you are afraid might happen...etc. Good Luck

just cover up with sheets instead. I used to have the same problem when I lived in my old house...but I am not as bad now. but I do have to have a light on somewhere in the house. I never had to cover my head but I feel safer with a blanket or sheet on. Cause everyone knows that a blanket renders the boogieman powerless :)

Try going to a fabric store and buying some sheer material, like the stuff you find under a prom dress...they have soft feeling types, and even though you'll be able to see thru it, maybe having it over your head will suffice...and it will allow the cool air to flow thru much easier.
