I know that your parents, brothers, and sisters are your "immediate family". But what about grandparents or great-grandparents - are they also considered "immediate family"?

Just wondering and thanks in advance to anyone who answers my question.

No, not really. "Immediate family" is generally meant the household you grew up in. I suppose if your grandparents raised you, this would be considered "immediate" in situations like "immediate family only invited." But in cases like medical history, when they ask about your immediate family, they mean your parents and siblings.
