Jesus is quoted many times in the Bible saying that a believer can ask for anything through prayer and receive it. He even goes so far as to say that mountains and trees can be thrown into the sea simply by praying for it. This is clearly a lie, and can be proven to be a lie by any believer.
And Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, `Be taken up and cast into the sea,' it will happen. "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:21-22 NAS)
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 NAB)

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst. (Matthew 18:19-20 NAS)
Amen, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it shall be done for him. Therefore I tell you, all that you ask for in prayer, believe that you will receive it and it shall be yours. (Mark 11:24-25 NAB)
And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. (Luke 11:9-13 NAB)

And whatever you ask in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything of me in my name, I will do it. (John 14:13-14 NAB)
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. (John 15:7 NAB)
It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. (John 15:16 NAB
On that day you will not question me about anything. Amen, amen, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in my name he will give you. Until now you have not asked anything in my name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete. (John 16:23-24 NAB)

So what exactly is the question? Ask and you shall receive--pretty obvious to a believer. Happens all the time. Knock (at His door, meaning pray) and the door will be opened--He shows you a way - believe it! If you have faith and do not doubt, you can cast a mountain into the sea--well, we are doubters, aren't we? But we also use a minimal amount of our brain power. It's there somewhere. We just haven't learned to access it yet! So, if we do not doubt, in Him or in ourselves, we probable COULD actually move a mountain just thinking about it.

Luk 23:8 And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.
Luk 23:9 Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.

If you ask the Lord for anything, and your heart and request are sincere, and your faith is strong and sincere, then, YES, I believe that anything can be given to you as long as it is in accordance to God's plan. And Jesus didn't lie; He was without sin, and lieing is obviously a sin (Exodus 20). Following are a couple of verses to hopefully help you understand a little more clearly:
Matthew 13:10-15
"10The disciples came to him and asked, "Why do you speak to the people in parables?"
11He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. 12Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. 13This is why I speak to them in parables:
"Though seeing, they do not see;
though hearing, they do not hear or understand. 14In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah:
" 'You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.
15For this people's heart has become calloused;
they hardly hear with their ears,
and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
hear with their ears,
understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.'"
Jeremiah 29:11
"11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

sweetheart... prayer has the power to move mountains. Jesus did not lie, but God has the right to say NO when things aren't in accordance with his will, if the time is not right, or if it is not for your benefit. if you're asking for the mountain to move on a whim with no reason behind it, why would God do it? It's not a party trick! Faith precedes the miracle- you just want the miracle first.

we shall see ye of little faith, maybe you will hear of the great seeker getting God to throw a mountain in the sea. The Job is you have a seed of faith, you need to seek the gardner to water and plant that seed. When the seed turns to tree and has strong routes...then you will see power from that seed. This is part of my seek to have the faith of Christ. or stronger like the book says.

A true believer would never pray that God would move a mountain just to see if he would do it. God is not some kind of a pet that we have trained to perform tricks for us. If God responded to every frivolous request that we make of him, we would become spoiled brats, just like children whose parents give them everything they ask for.
If there was really a need for God to move a mountain, then I believe that he would do it in response to a believer's prayer. But I've never seen such a need, yet.

In over 50 years I have yet to have an unanswered prayer, nor a failure of God to come through for me. The scriptures you quoted are true and I see them happen daily in my life.
If you are not seeing them in your life, you may need to make some changes in Who you are believing and how. When your statement starts out with the assumption that Jesus' statements are a lie, it is difficult for you to "have faith" in them. And according to the statements, no faith - no miracles.
If you are seeing no miracles (since you have no faith) then the statements are true.

22And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight
2You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God. 3When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
4You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5Or do you think Scripture says without reason that the spirit he caused to live in us envies intensely?[a] 6But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:
"God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble."[b]

The best part about prayer is that since god is all knowing, and has a plan for all of us, praying is simply a request for him to change his mind. Why would anyone want to change gods mind? I thought he knew best.

Only if the prayer is in faith and sincere and in accordance with the will of God can it be answered. He didn't lie. There is a prerequisite to that statement. Take into account the believing part. Everyone who asks in faith, receives. Not faith in a false doctrine or truth, but faith that it is right, and in accordance with his will.
