Has anyone worked at Bloomingdales? I have an interview there, what should I expect? Does anyone have any stories to share about their experience at Bloomingdales? Is there a lot of sales involved?

Sorry, no one seems to know and unfortunately I don't either. I just hate seeing questions sit out here for days unanswered! I hope you've figured it out and are happily working at Bloomingdale's. Whether sales are highly involved or not will probably depend on what department you end up working in. Enjoy that employee discount!

I work at Bloomingdale's in customer service but the co-workers that perform sales seem happy for the most part. At the end of a slow day they are pretty tired just like any other job. Expect to provide great customer service to everyone not just your clients. You never know if a manager will run into you asking a general question. Each sales associate gets a daily report of how they did the day before and they try to meet department goals for the month. How much the goal is I guess depends on the department. Everyone's main goal is to open a Bloomingdale's credit account. You do this and not only does the customer benefit but the team does as well. It's about making a connection with the customer (learn about their lives, family, ect.) while trying to find what it is they are looking for. Making suggestions even if you have to refer them to another store. Someone asked me last week if we had weight scales, I called housewares to check and after finding out we didn't. I suggested Wal-Mart or Brooks Brothers. That's the culture of Bloomingdale's if we don't carry it we are okay suggesting another company that does. Hope that helps
