Try it....you might really like the contrast of the oak against the white. If not, you could switch out the blinds later, but that would be costly. Really think you should give it a chance, though....just sounds like it's going to work.

Yes, very handsome. Why not repeat the motif by painting the bases of wood tables the same color as your trim, and staining the table tops oak.

It would look fine, but would you be able to paint your blinds white to match? That would set your room a little better. Some spray paints are marvelous.

yes, but if the blinds are a dark color, do not use a bright white but maybe antique white or some other eggshell color.
