3 isn't old at all! He is maybe just getting "over the hill."
My pig Rodney is 4, and in awesome shape. Then again, his not even 1 year old friend keeps him in shape!

guinea pigs live about four to seven years. if well taken care of they could live longer than that.

Yes, your girl is in her "senior" years, but with lots of good care & love, she may have several more!
Like everyone else said, piggies live, on average, between five & seven years. More, if they are well taken care of.

5-7 is considered average with good care. I had one many years ago live to 9! Very unusual! :)
