I have a pretty good start. Looking for songs we can use in the wedding, as well as good songs for the reception. I would like a few more GLBT friendly songs. And a wide variety of everything is welcomed, there are going to be all ages and types of people attending...
So far:

Ceremony and dedicated reception songs:

StickWitU -Pussycat Dolls
My Front Porch Looking in -Lonestar
God Must Have Spent -N'Sync
Everything -Alanis Morissette
Love Song -Pink
I Want to Hold Your Hand -The Beatles
Forever and For Always -Shania Twain
Have I Told You Lately -Van Morrison

I Loved Her First -Heartland
Holes in the Floor of Heaven -Collin Raye

General Reception Dance Mix:

Waiting on The World to Change -John Mayer
A Different World -Bucky Covington
Suddenly I See -KT Tunstall
Way You Love Me -Faith Hill
I Could Not Ask for More -Sara Evans
Seasons of Love -Rent
Take Me Anywhere -Tegan and Sara
Ghetto Gospel -2Pac/Elton John

We dont want soft music in the background. I am 19, and she is 26, we want to have fun!

One of our good friends is going to be DJ'ing. We are giving her a general list and she is going to go between that and her own collection.

But some of these songs are going to be used for the actual ceremony, and for things like the father/daughter dance, and for our first dance, so those need to be specified.

Here are some link with lists of dance and party songs. You can't go wrong with the standards like Celebration Kool and the Gang, We Are Family and YMCA! Those are a ton of fun!

Good luck!

are you making the entire list and playing it yourselves or are you making a list to give to a professional DJ. If you are hiring a vendor to play music.. just stick to suggestions like the list above. You want the music to blend throughout the night to keep everyone into it - give suggestions of songs and the DJ will do the rest (they know how to feel out the crowd and play what will fit).

DJ is so ghetto. Hire a trio of musicians to play soft background music throughout the dinner. It's a wedding, not a floorshow.

Every wedding I have ever been to has played, "Shout" and "The Twist." People young and old really get into it.
