How many people/employees are usually hired for a department store such as Marshall's or TJ Maxx?

I'm currently working at a new store and they are hiring about 50 people to help set up the store.. so I'm just a little concern that I might get laid-off or something when the store opens...

They usually hire a lot of people to begin with, especially when they open a new store or are facing holiday season. But then they start cutting your hours, so many people willingly leave their job. Been there, done that.

take the job, by the time the store opens, the Christmas season will be upon us, just work hard and show them you are a good employee, one the will not want to loose
