I mean think about, you don't personally know these guys and Jesus didn't write a thing about himself. Why should an all knowing and powerful trust man to write his word since man was corrupt right from the start?

They prefer fantasy to reality. They want things nice and safe. They're afraid to think for themselves because the answers might shake their small worlds. Read the Bible, you will be an atheist when you finish it. Talking snakes, fish swallowing people, 90 year old women giving birth, men 50 feet tall, virgins having babies, nothing scientific or relevant in it. Just a group of fables promoting violence, rape, torture and murder.

God choose men to write His Word because the men could speak our language. God used the Holy Spirit to reveal His message to humankind. The writers did not know the things that they wrote or how to write them by themselves. The Holy Spirit revealed it to them. They knew the historical and geographical facts of what they wrote but the Holy Spirit gave them wisdom as to what was important and how to put it together so that it has that meaning that we discover when we read the Bible.

The meaning and inspiration that are manifest in the Bible can only be understood by the believer as the Holy Spirit opens our eyes as we read, and gives us understanding. Since you are sceptical about the Bible, you will probably not get much out of it on the first reading. But if you truly seek to know what it means, and pray to understand it, and keep on reading, you will experience why believers get so much hope guidance and experience God's love from reading the Bible. I experienced this myself recently with the extra books of the Bible which I was raised to not trust. But more recently I began to want to know what they said and why they have been left in the Bible all these years. Now I really appreciate a couple of those extra or approcophal books of the Bible. When you think of how widely the Bible is read and believed and treasured, you will want to try to find out what it says and what it means for yourself.

God did Not entrust just anyone to 'jot' down a few notes for Him. The people who were chosen were men of integrity towards the things of God. Maybe you are not aware, but God sees beyond the surface of a man into his heart. He knows ALL things. Besides it was the Holy Spirit who 'inspired' these men to write what they did. I am sure He 'checked them out' before He called them to such a significant task. Not just 'anyone' was used to be an instrument of God's Word to the people. Truth is, God purposely used simple minded people, instead of the religious leaders of the day, because He wanted humble hearts and minds to carry His message of truth, mercy, grace, forgiveness, and love. As the desciples witnessed these things firsthand themselves, they were compelled to proclaim this truth about God's heart to the people, Instead of using the hard hearted religious leaders who were only interested in 'forcing the people to obey the laws' of God handed down by Moses. Trust me when I say, He is LORD and was more than able to straighten out any potential confusion about His 'Message'(the Bible) before the 'first edition' went to print! P.S.... B.I.B.L.E. Stands for .. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth! You might want to take a closer look at the content, with an open mind and heart toward God, instead of focusing your attention on man. God can use anyone or anything to get His point across, including a 'donkey'! Which He did in the 'old testament'. Seek Him, and let Him worry about His messengers, who knows, He just might even choose to use 'You' someday!! sincerely, Rose

Because they are ignorant.
They believe that dinosaurs coexisted with humans.
They believe that donkeys and snakes talk.
They believe that a human can be swallowed by a whale and stay alive for 3 days inside of it.
They believe in talking dragons.
They do not want to hear about scientific facts that have disproved the stories of the bible.
THE KEY WORD IS IGNORANCE,IGNORANCE,IGNORANCE.

The Bible was written entirely by Jews who were breathed into by the Holy Spirit. Not "some middle eastern dudes".

Read the Bible, it's not corrupt. there's nothing corrupt about it. The fact that you think that shows your ignorance.

Jesus didn't have to write anything about Himself. There were witnesses that told of His goodness and greatness so they wrote about Him. Additionally, though they were Middle Eastern, they were not like the Middle Eastern people of today. They were not deceived or influenced by Western and European societies like they are today. They had a pure relationship with God so they could hear God's voice and write down whatever He instructed them to.
