First penalties for insedental words. so be it but look at the history no more racing back to the flag hello racing then they give the lucky duck yes that looks like racing and I could go on and on were is my Nascar of 5 years ago were they started there cars smashed metal getting all there anger out , out on the track and had a beer in the pits after the race. I think Nascar needs to go back to its roots and there fan base will explode again thats just my 2 cents worth...

Its called going mainstream! Nascar will never go back to the "good ole days" because there is way too much money involved from large multi-billiore how n dollar corporations! Drivers and Teams wouldn't want to race for $10,000 to win a race when they can get $100,000 or much more by involving this companies! Money talks my friends!

The COT is a start to what they want to do. They want everything on all the cars to be as similar as possible. Its rumored that Nascar is going to try a spec engine for the truck series! Meaning every time will have exactly the same engine! Not sure how this changes what Ford, GM, Dodge and Toyota think about being involved in the series!?

Nascar needs to just do what the rest of the world does and give themselves a 6 sec delay so when a guy swears they can bleep it out! The FCC doesn't like random cuss words going out ever since the whole Janet nipple-gate incident in the superbowl!

You bring a very interesting question. The Nascar of 5 yrs ago and more is when the sport was growing the most. I love stock car racing but I'm beginning to wonder how much I like it. Nascar is slowly stripping away all the passion of the sport. Their heads are getting way too big, they aren't indestructible, and sooner or later they WILL go to far, hopefully it won't be too late. There are a lot of fans out there that feel the same way you do!

I've been preaching this since FOX made the other channel stay out side the track for there driver interviews. I Knew then this wasn't going to be a could change in NASCAR policies to let a network run the show at the track.

Then it just kept getting worst once NASCAR started seeing all that green they became a yes boy to the corporate world. Now we have this once high class racing series turned into a bullshit fining dumb *** rule changing group of idiot destroying the show.

God bless you.

I think they need to rewind just a bit. This is not a "gentleman's" sport. I miss the REAL racing you speak of, but I also understand the need for increased safety. Racin' is Rubbin', and it aint racing without tradin' paint, but they seem to frown on that now. The sad thing is, all the recent fans don't know what real racing is. That is a loss for them. Oh yeah, and if they had been broadcasting from the team radios back in the day, they'd have to bleep every other word!

Until they've completely ruined the sport. They've just about accomplished it, so it won't be long. I use to not miss a race, but I just don't care that much anymore. What we have isn't racing - it's a bunch of cars following each other around the track. We need to go back to the "Run what you Brung"!!!! This is a STOCK CAR sport .....(or at least it was).
