Take it easy ;)

Your beliefs aren't a sham. I quote Jesus, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them to babes." Jesus understands that it's hard to comprehend such radical ideas. In fact, He specifically says that babies would have better understanding of the universe than wise men. Think about it... Remember this next time you read the gospels. Who received Jesus? The learned scribes, pharisees or saducees? Or the common people?

A prophecy from the book of Daniel quotes that in the final days "knowledge will increase." Knowing the chaos predicted about the 'final days' in Revelations; this increasing knowledge obviously isn't any help.

You don't need a scientist to confirm for you that God exists. About 33% of the world population is Christian, and you can trust me that it isn't just because their parents were Christian too.
"The larger the theory; the larger the evidence necessary."
If people honestly believe in something so vast as an infinitely loving and powerful God, they must have some ginormous evidence! Most believers have found the evidence that they need to believe whether it's a new hope, miraculous recovery, incredible sense of wonder and awe, etc. Each Christian has somehow been touched by the Holy Spirit in their lives that they may believe. Pray to God and keep close to Him, and I think your faith will only grow stronger. I'll pray for you too ;)

My dear, your beliefs are not a sham, and ignore all of them who say they are. I am not even Christian, and I will never tell you that your beliefs are a lie. Those who tell you that your beliefs are a lie, or are wrong, have not known spirituality or a closeness to the divine in any form. It has nothing to do with who is right and who is wrong, its about how you feel. If you feel that your beliefs are right for you, then they are, and to (insert miscellaneous fiery bad place) with anyone who tells you otherwise.

Spirituality is a very personal thing, and no one but you can tell you what your beliefs are. If it makes you feel close to what you see as the divine, then great for you. Sometimes I think people who say that other people's beliefs are a lie are jealous at the spirituality others have found in their lives. People who have found and are strong in their spiritual beliefs tend to have much richer and fuller lives.

So what if your beliefs may not be entirely historically accurate, if they make you feel close to the divine, then they are right for you. If you are curious about the history of your beliefs, then study it, learn more about the background of your belief and where they come from. That will not change the fact that those beliefs are still spiritual to you. No matter what is written about it, for or against, God is still part of you and everything else. Rejoice in your beliefs, respect the beliefs of other, and let the people who put you down over it sit and continue to complain while you can feel good that the divine in some way is with you.

Look at how many people are trying to tell you to check out other things, Christianity is a lie, live only for yourself, and on and on, and these are just the ones that answered your question. It's hard when there is only one right answer, and it seems like everyone else is saying there are many. If enough people said that 2+2=5, that wouldn't make them right. Every person that tries to take you away from the God that died to pay your ticket into Heaven is, whether they know it or believe it (or not), acting on behalf of the one being that doesn't want you in Heaven. Thank you for posting this question and allowing me to be there for you. God loves you -- always has, always will.

Go back. Go back to the Word of God and look carefully at the New Testament and Jesus' Words. Please think. Would you rather live with the assurance that God loves and cares for you or live something that is not true. If you have a close friend that is a Christian- a strong Christian, seek their advice. Or talk to a leader in a church that is trustworthy. Don't allow anyone to confuse you. Most religions or cults or things outside of Christianity will try to make it out to be a sham. "Be still and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10

Have you been involved in bible studies. Just saying I have been a Christian is not enough to maintain ones belief in God. Showing by our actions is necessary and not judging others. Be with those who respect your beliefs and they don't have to believe the way you do. Read Proverbs 12: verses 15 to 22 and Matthew 7: verses 15 to 23 and finally 1 Timothy 1: verses 3 to 11.

Ill give you a good place to start.

Most people in a Christian transition stage ask the question: Without Christianity, how can I have any morals? Where do my morals come from? A little investigation into this area and you will find morals existed well before Christianity. Once you realize that you are not going to become a evil satanist, you will be able relax and educate yourself more efficiently and the greatest part, WITHOUT FEAR AND GUILT.

This link is an extensive study of the origin of human Morals.

As a christian you must have heard of the prophecies and warnings or stories of Armageddon... what is supposed to happen is that the devil is suposed to be exposed, and the veil of lies he's created on earth revealed, it says in your bibles that the devil will deceive the whole earth what you are experiencing is the veil of blindness being lifted ..... now not being christian myself I won't pretend to understand exactly what you are feeling but it's the end of your ties to religion not your life.... remember that... keep speaking with people outside religion, the feeling of incomplete comes from a form of spiritual deprivation that comes along with religious views

Have no fear! I assure you, salvation does not happen in groups, it is an individual reward that comes from our Heavenly Father. The Bible warns of the increase of false religion as we get closer and closer to the end. You must use the Bible as your authority to gain accurate knowledge of the Truth. Start by concentrating on the love you have for your Heavenly Father, above all, and do not forget Jesus' sacrifice for us. Rebuilt you spiritual armor and persevere. After Armageddon, everything will be sorted out. There would be no more religion, just God and his wonderful creation.

Don't sell the farm yet. Get both sides of the issue. Contrasting Richard Dawkins against the Southern Baptist Convention is like swatting a fly with a Buick. But if you read Kurt Goedel, Christopher Small, Anthony Anderson and others, you will see that the issue is not quite so one-sided as it might seem.
