Not me personally, but too many of us are. It is probably the least "politically correct" religion to say you belong to, never mind the fact that we have never had a president identify as anything but a Christian. It seems that the media (in general) has no problem saying whatever they want negative about Christians, but if they would say anything negative about any other religion, WATCH OUT!!! I l give you this quote from "Mere Christianity", by C.S. Lewis -- "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."
I highly recommend the book for anyone, especially those wondering about the Christian faith -- whether you are "inside" and confused, or "outside" and wondering. C.S. Lewis was a devout atheist before trying to disprove God. Now he is considered one of the greatest Christian thinkers the world has ever seen.

I am not but at the same time I don't go boasting about how good a Christian I am. I show people my Christian faith by my actions. To some people my actions are just doing the right thing but it is what my faith is all about.

No, but as a Christian I am terrified of what other Christians now seem to think our faith is supposed to be.

I am especially afraid of how Christians have allowed right-wing politicians to exploit our faith so they can pass laws that go AGAINST everything the Bible commands us to do: help the poor, protect the environment, alleviate suffering, promote peace and champion the weak. Instead, Christians help elect politicians who run on divisive social issues (that receive little mention in the Bible) but whose real agenda is to reduce taxes for their rich supporters and eliminate social services that help "the least among us." Do we really believe that Jesus will be pleased that we wouldn't let gay people marry but we were willing to let poor children go hungry? No wonder others question our beliefs!

Too many Christians wrap themselves in ignorance of the real history of our faith. Christians led the fight for abolition of slavery, for civil rights and many other just causes. Now it is perceived as a religion of greed, war, disdain for the poor and protection of the rich. This is not because of what other faiths think about Christians, it's because of what Christians have allowed to happen in their name.

I am very afraid - not of questions from my non-Christian friends but of what will be done next in the name of Christ.

i'm not afraid, but i do get frustrated. People think my religion is full of rude people...which i think every religion has some rude people in it. Christianity is based on love and the love Christ has for us. I'm not saying everyone else is wrong and that i'm right, but i believe in what my heart tells me. If you read through all of the questions... most of the answers are of people dissing christianity, not the other way around.

Is there any reason why I should? "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels" (Mark 8:38). We as Christians should never be ashamed of our faith in God the Farther of Jesus Christ. He is the truth and light, of a very dark world in which we live in that is full of corruption, sinfulness and murdering; these are reasons to me to ashamed not my faith.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek." (Romans 1:16)

"Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

"But the fearful... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

Nope as a christian I have to be a light to a dark world. I only care about what my Father in heaven thinks of me.

The only Being's opinion I am worried about regarding my faith, is God.

No...but I defend it anyway.

"PREACH THE WORD, in season and out...reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and doctrine; for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine...but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers telling them what they WANT to hear...." (2Tim.4:2)
