I am hooked on eBay and I am finding lots of bargins and the bargins added up. I ordered so much that I received 6 packages from the mail carrier this past Thursday. My credit card bill is going out of control. I don't really have no friends and I consider my mom as my best friend. Any suggestions on how to not get hooked on eBay?

get off the internet - go for walks with your mother. meet people. please - i've had a shopping addicition and it ruined good three years of my life.
what for? its all material things..
are you married? do you have a boyfriend?

i suggest you go swimming, go play some sport - before you know it, you'll get fat as well, sitting on that computer all day long...

please sometimes people have to be cruel to be kind so i have to say this:
get off your bum, go for a walk, go meet some real people - and go normal shopping. at least you'll interact with human beings, you'll meet people - and maybe your new best friend...

take a chance - got to be strong -
good luck

People can tell you many different ways on how to help. No matter what we suggest, it comes down to getting over the mental aspect yourself. If turning off the computer, having your mum change your eBay password, or other drastic measures are needed, go for it.

Another way to help, which worked out well for a friend of mine, is to turn your addiction into a solution. You're hooked for finding great bargains, Well, so are a lot of other eBayers. Rather then spend hours on eBay searching for bargains, spend some time at local flea markets, garage sales, and moving sales and search for bargains. With your experience on eBay, you shouldn't have much of a problem spotting value and bargains there as well. Only this time, when you purchase these bargains, you are passing on your great finds to other bargain-hunters on eBay. With the right attitude and dedication, you will be helping fellow bargain hunters out, put a stop to your debt, and possibly even make a business out of it. It may not be a business where you can live off the profits, but you may and should earn enough profit to reward yourself every so often by keeping that one bargain you really like, and its initial glamour and excitement doesn't wear off.

I tend to banter on and on because I type exactly what I think, so to sum up: Stop searching eBay, search local garage sales, ect. Invest in the bargains, sell them and pass them to fellow eBayers. Turn a profit, or at worst break even. Profits then can allow you to keep your favourite bargain(s) at no cost to you.

Best of luck

Be brave - cut up your credit card! I understand the temptation of bargains and you will always find something to tempt you, so stop your ability to be tempted (no religious inference meant - good luck - be strong!)
