I think Pele has the highest number of career goals, but from
the following sentence, I see it as Arthur Friedenreich....
But I also get the news that many of his goals were not recognised by FIFA...

Pelé's statistics are staggering. During his career he scored 1,280 goals in 1,360 games, second only to another Brazilian, Arthur Friedenreich, who recorded 1,329 goals. He scored an average of a goal in every international game he played--the equivalent of a baseball player's hitting a home run in every World Series game over 15 years.

Even recently, Romario another WC1994 Brazilian player
claims he scored more than 1000 goals which are disputed
by FIFA.

So if go by FIFA's scores it would be Pele. If you want to go
by what others keep, then it would be Arthur.

I believe Pelé scored more than 1,000 goals in his career. Romário also claims to have scored 1,000 goals, but I've heard that many people are questioning his record and say that he in fact only scored about 920 goals.

Even though pele was a great player. They do count EVERY goal, which does include alot that were scored when he was a kid, when he was at school, and playing for youth teams.
Didn't romario score his 1000th goal this year?

Pele was a goal machine. 1280 goals officially but that does not include goals he scored as trialist or pre records by FIFA so he is best career goal scorer.
