It sounds as if she is nesting and getting ready for the impending birth. I wouldnt really be worried, but if it really bothers you that badly, call the vet. They can give you good advice. Have your vet on the ready in case you need them if your mom-to-be has problems during delivery.

Her condition and behavior sound "normal" for a pregnant dog that is about to whelp.

A "hard stomach" usually means that the puppies are moving toward the birth canal and getting ready to come out. They're lining up, and waiting to be born. (Check her temperature. If it drops to about 98 degrees, it means the pups are 12-24 hours away.)

If your dog has chosen the closet as her "nest" area, leave her alone until after her pups are born. Also, don't try to "force" her to go potty if she doesn't want to. She needs a quiet, safe place to have her pups, and if you keep trying to intervene to "help" her, you may only end up making her more stressed.

Make sure she has plenty of clean water available to her at all times. You can also tempt her with beef broth if she's not in the mood to eat or drink anything.

Once the pups arrive, take her outside for potty (even if she's reluctant to leave the pups for a moment). She may have big, dark bowel movements for a day or two if she's eaten the placentas that follow each pup as its born.
