My other grad project didnt end up working out so i need to find out a new grad project envent that will benefit the community. I have already written a paper about The Children's Miracle Network, so what ever i am going to do it will benefit them.

So here are some ideas i came up with:
*Date Auction: Get men and women to be auctioned off for a date in our community.
*Martial Art & Dance Day: Have my martial art's groups and my sister's dance groups to come in and do demonstrations and charge a 2 dollar entrance fee, and have a local supermarket provide refreshments.
*24 hr Dance off: have people sponsor a member from my capoeira group and have a dance off and for every hour that a participant stays in they are given so much money to give to the Children's Miracle Network.
*Game show day: open to anyone in the community. It would be a day of all classic game shows.with three grand prizes for the 3 people with the most game points at the end of the day. 5 dollar part. fee

All of these are wonderful ideas! You might also, at whatever event you do end up putting on, advertise the fact that CMN uses Goodsearch to help earn money. Lots of people still don't know that.

Another idea that is surprisingly very lucrative and a blast to put on? A Senior Citizens Prom. I know it sounds like a drag, but my group back in college did one in 2002, and it was seriously fun! The old folks had a blast, and we did too, and it raised a lot of money. All you need is a band (probably a bunch of undergrads willing to donate their time in exchange for some publicity for their music group) who can do covers of old songs, and a ballroom (a gym is fine). Serve refreshments (lots and lots of water, sweet tea and sodas are all you need). Make calls to local retirement communities. They'll be happy to let you post fliers. Have volunteers be dance partners for the solo guests and waitress/waiters for others. Charge entry. Let the good times roll.

Why not just sit people down and ask them for money? Find a place to have it: it can be your own house or, if a restaurant will let you, the back room at a restaurant. Go to www.evite.com and put together an evite to invite people. Tell them you're raising money, that they can come and donate whatever they want, that the whole event will last an hour, that all they have to do is listen and they can choose whether and how much to give. When people show up, tell them about the cause and why to give. Ask the people who attend if they'll give a party like yours. Set a goal for the amount to raise. See www.benevon.com for details on this kind of event: they call it the Ask Event.

1. Poker Tournament
2. Copacabana Night: Casino games (roulette, Black Jack, dice, & poker tables - all rentable), Vegas Style Dancers, finger foods and drinks.
3. Speed Dating Service at a local bar/pub
4. Outdoor movie screening
5. Silent Auction (have local vendors donate items, vacation, car, dinner, lunch, etc.)
6. Petting Zoo or Carnival
7. Organize an Arts & Craft show
8. Dinner Night: For one price have attendees eat appetizers & have wine at one restaurant, an entree at another restaurant, dessert at nother location, and finally after dinner drinks & musci at another location. Transportation can be walking from place to place or in a shuttle/limo. Have a rep from the organization you want to help at one location to tell everyone why they are there and how they can help raise funds. At the first one you can ask the sommelier to describe the wine, at the entree location the chef can come out and talk about the meal prepared. Make this event available to the entire community.

Date auction, definitely. But it has been my experience that men are more open to being auctioned off than females and females are more willing to spend money for guys than guys for gals--don't even want to analyze that one. So keep it simple and just stick with the guys.
