Yes, you heard it here, er, first (although the info has been available for some time). Due to cost constraints much of Cannondale frame production- aluminum and carbon fiber- could be moving from Taiwan and China to Vietnam.

There are VERY few Cannondale frames made in the U.S. anymore. Don't believe me? Call the factory since the dealer probably doesn't know. The "Made in the US" sticker refers only to assembly of the bike, not construction of the parts.

Don't kill the messenger...

Roberto... I understand it is another "Made in Taiwan" question, but most Cannondale owners grasp the idea that their bike is American made... it is more of a commentary than a question, I guess.

Okay... another not made in the usa biking post....

Have you checked the quality of this new bike? That's what important, no the country of origin.

The name of the product masks where it was made. I have a Bianchi Giro. The frame is made in the USA (Easton Aluminum part of the frame) NOT Italy. If more people wanted American made products -- insisted on American made products, Wal-Mart would still be "Made in America" like they built their reputation on. I don't think anyone likes the fact that most inexpensive do-dads are Chinese, Viet Namese or such. As long as the thing is inexpensive the country of origin is ignored for the most part. I am old enough to remember when "Made in Japan" meant inferior products! Shimano Dura-Ace anyone?

No----my friend's Cannondale RUSH has a MADE IN TAIWAN frame decal or is it paint? Though it looks all American---When I saw its Taiwan print---it just makes it sort of INFERIOR, in some subtle way. American Cannondales are way BETTER---and it should remain THAT WAY! ( leave the taiwanese to most rip-off brands in the department stores and junk dealers!). Most Taiwan products in Manila Philippines especially the bikes are hideous! ( why I look at exclusive bike shops only dudes!). BUY YANKEE BIKES ONLY! Vietnam??? Nooooo thanks!

I never loved Cannondale. Best thing that could ever happen to for the brand is to have Cannondale stop making their own stuff.

Aluminum frames cost $7

Arrrgh. Outsourcing seems to be a way of life.

The other day I couldn't understand a word the help desk guy from Dell was saying. When I asked him how the weather was, he said "oh, vindy, veddy vindy."

They have done a good job keeping that quiet. Probably a good thing with all the fake, toxic products flowing into the news from China.

Another one bites the dust...

Most of the products you buy everyday are made in China.
